This scratching post does not require any other tools than what is included in the packaging. The holes are already in place for you to tighten the screws with an L wrench.

Item changed - poor quality
Scratcher on the right is the one that I ordered a couple months ago. I ordered a replacement which is the one on the left. The replacement is much lower quality

The replacement is much lower quality and you can see that the base is also a different design. I’ll see how it holds up but already I am not optimistic. I would not recommend this to anybody.

Poor Quality fake materials
Scratching part does not feel like sisel. It looks and feels like plastic fibers woven together to look like sisel. Cat won't use it because it is very rough on

A new cat favorite!

Corners are squared instead of rounded
I think this scratch post is very similar to the last one with a few differences, the very center is actually marked on this one, the corners are squared instead

Changed the model
I loved my first version of this scratcher, it lasted us a long time with three cats. Got the new one, started to come apart at the seam after one week.
