Where is the salmon from and is it wild caught?
Answer by ChewyApr 11, 2019
Whenever wild-caught salmon is available, it is sourced for these treats. When not available, farm-raised Salmon from the Pacific Northwest is used to ensure the treats are still available.

Are these raw ?

These dog treats are not raw. They are a natural, human-grade and whole-food treat.

Stinky and Smelly

I wanted to incorporate a little fish into my Leos diet without it being too much as he has a sensitive stomach. These seemed like a good idea for us to use mostly for training treats. The size is small enough as not to add too many calories. Figured i would use the leftover smaller pieces in the bag as a meal topper too. However, the smell is so overwhelming that I can’t even have these in the house. So strong of fish I’m gagging.

Pulverized pieces

Taste-wise my dog likes them. Functionally, they are messy because of there being a lot of powdery dust from crushed pieces. The dust gets everywhere anytime I stick my hand in to get some out. I wont purchase again.

She loves it

I love that they are made in USA, human grade and no additives. My fur baby loves them too. I gave them 3 stars because they sure smell fishy. Also lots of very tiny broken pieces.

Mmmmmm good

My dogs love these! I crunch a few of the treats up and put over my big dog's weight control kibble. She needs to lose weight. It is good that these are low calories and you do not need to use much and even though just giving a bit, it goes a long way and she loves it!

BEST treat for a dog with missing teeth!

My mini schnauzer has a total of 12 teeth in his mouth. I don't think I'm anthropomorphizing here, but my dog misses chewing and crunching things. These are perfect- they are puffy, kind of soft, but also crunchy. I pull these out, and he gets so happy! He also is prone to pancreatitis, so the low fat content is perfect. Best. Treat. Ever.

Great treats or food topper

I actually bought these to crush and use as a food topper for my picky dog. They're a good texture, firm enough to not crumble too easily if you want to use them whole as treats, but easy to crush into powder to sprinkle on food for my use. I also used the flakes/layers of them to "sandwich" her pills and she always swallowed them right down. Freeze dried treats aren't the sturdiest things, though, so don't get them expecting something you can carry in a treat bag and not get crushed. My dog loved them (so did my cats) and I love that this brand is usually a lot cheaper per ounce than Pure Bites or the others I've tried.

Cat loves these

Good quality. Chunks are smaller sized than another brand, which makes it easier for my cat to eat.

mostly crumbs

Prior 2 bags had nicely sized pieces. This bag was mostly crumbs and dust. Not worth the $$$ since I bought them for training treats. I won’t waste then though- probably spinkle on my dog’s dinner to use it up.

Hannah loves these treats. I also get the Liver treats and the beef treats also.

Great treat

No smell at all. I was worried because it’s fish, but that fear proved unfounded.
