Changed my Endurance/NATRC Game!

For the first few years I rode endurance with my Paso Finos, I gave a home made mix based off an endurance vet's protocols, which was okay and my horses did alright

For the first few years I rode endurance with my Paso Finos, I gave a home made mix based off an endurance vet's protocols, which was okay and my horses did alright on it. Then I was catch riding a friend's Paso Fino on a hot and humid Texas ride in May, and we gave his horse this, and the change in the horse was almost immediate. After seeing that, I was SOLD on these for competitive ride weekends. My horses have performed as well (or better!) if I follow a strict electrolyte protocol in camp and on trail, and LyteNow has become a major component when I'm on trail.

Tube Hard to Manage

Usually, when you are using any kind of plunger setup on your horse, you want it to be a one-and-done situation. It was a nightmare giving this to my horse today

Usually, when you are using any kind of plunger setup on your horse, you want it to be a one-and-done situation. It was a nightmare giving this to my horse today. It was almost impossible to push the paste into his mouth--the plunger you push to get the paste into his mouth wouldn't move--I had to finally push the paste into my hands and give it to him that way. To add to the hard administration of this, I really needed another person to hold him because the tube is very big for small hands and impossible to push. The only good thing I can say about this is that he didn't mind the taste at all and actually accepted treats from me after the frustrating, time-consuming process.

My horse says NOPE!

Definitely the worst electrolyte paste I’ve used! I’ve used a lot of different ones for my horse as he’s prone to colic and I like to make sure he stays hydrated

Definitely the worst electrolyte paste I’ve used! I’ve used a lot of different ones for my horse as he’s prone to colic and I like to make sure he stays hydrated in the winter. I tried this one when Chewy stopped carrying the one I like best (Oralx brand). This one earns a big NOPE from my horse and I. It’s really thick and chunky…it looks like exactly like red loose salt made into a thick paste. It was super goopy and difficult to administer…it kind of just came out in chunks that fell out of my horses mouth. And my horse really really disliked it. He was so offended he wouldn’t even eat a carrot afterwards and kept working his mouth. He never does this with the OralX paste I use. Definitely won’t buy this one again! Chewy please get the OralX one back!
