The suction cup was one of the rare ones that held well, but I noticed the readout fading after a couple of days. Replaced the battery (it comes with two) and once again, it failed in a day. I don't think the battery compartment was fully waterproof; there appeared to be corrosion. I'd avoid this one.

Bought 2, placed them in separate tanks. Have been using them for just under 12 weeks. About 1 month ago I noticed the display fading on 1 of them (can't see the numbers). 2 - 3 weeks ago I noticed the other one reading 10 - 15 degrees below actual temp. I have replaced the batteries and it made the display visible but not completely legible, but did nothing for the inaccurate reading. I put them beside each other to verify the temperature - the bad display reads about 82, the other one reads 69.
Accurate but failed after 2 months

The thermometer is accurate. I used it in a tank with a different type of thermometer and they read the same temperature. Unfortunately two months later the thermometer says my aquarium water is 32. By touch I know that is not correct and another thermometer says it is 78. I cannot recommend a product that only lasts two months.
