Beware of the hollow space

The sides of the bridge are hollow, and fish can easily swim into the sides through an opening right under the “wooden” slats. I couldn’t find my axolotl in her

The sides of the bridge are hollow, and fish can easily swim into the sides through an opening right under the “wooden” slats. I couldn’t find my axolotl in her tank until I lifted up the bridge. She was curled up in the hollow side of the bridge. I’m not sure she could have figured out how to get out without my having lifted the bridge up. Moreover, there is a sharp edge at the top of the hollow space, and an axolotl or other soft skinned aquatic creatures could easily damage their skin.
