Unstable tree

I didn't understand that you had to tether this to the wall with a strap to make it stable. I am not drilling a hole in my wall for that. My cats will not go on

I didn't understand that you had to tether this to the wall with a strap to make it stable. I am not drilling a hole in my wall for that. My cats will not go on it, so it was a waste of money. They have enjoyed traditional cat trees in the past without question. I am so disappointed in this item.
