I have one 100 lb dog and one 10 lb dog. This waterbowl works for both of them. They both took to it right away. I love having the fresh water flowing thru for them. My big dog can be messy but I have not had any problems with spillage. I liked it so much I ordered a second. I will agree that the filter could fit better. I am using 2 filters with the second one on the underside of the tray. I will say there is a design flaw IMO, re the pump. First, it is hard to get the red light, indicating time to fill, aimed correctly, but that hasn't been a problem since I learned that if I hear the water tinkling a bit that it is time to add water. However, I can't understand why it is set so I have to add water when this large tank is still at least half full. There is enough water in the tank that I doubt there is any chance of recycling debris from bottom water at that point. I appreciate not having to replace bowls of water everyday (or more often) but it seems that the system could be designed to effectively use more of the water before needing to replenish. That is why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5. I still am very happy with it and so are the dogs.
