The elevated hammock was to help him transition to a lying down position and provide ventilation to keep him cool in the Texas heat this summer. Unfortunately he passed away prior to receiving the cot, but Chewy.com allowed me to donate this to my local shelter. I put it together prior to gifting it. I love how easily it went together and the quality of the materials. I would definitely purchase this item again.
