Can you replace the battery if it was to die?

For battery replacement, The Pet-Temp must be returned to Advanced Monitors Corporation. The life span of the battery is over 20,000 temperatures, with a shelf life of up to 10 years. If the Pet-Temp were used 20 times a day, 6 days per week, the battery would last approximately 4 years. Although, more extensive thermometer usage may somewhat shorten the life of the battery.

How accurate is the thermometer? Does it read in Farenheit?

This rectal thermometer has an accuracy within plus or minus 0.2° Fahrenheit; temperature range from 90° to 108° Fahrenheit.

How do you change the reading from Celsius to Fahrenheit?

If you want to switch from °F to °C, first press the power button to power on, wait until the “L”symbol appears, then keep pressing the power button until the symbol °F flashes for 5 times. The °F symbol will then change to °C. If you want to change °C to °F, repeat the procedure.

Inaccurate

This never went above 99 degrees and that only happened once but usually settled at 97/98. I compared to 3 other thermometers which read my dogs temp at 100-101

Not worth it

This was not worth the $12. Ours didn’t go over 98 for our healthy cats and took way over 20 seconds to work.

Reliable just a little slow

The thermometer is definitely accurate but it takes more like 20 seconds to get the reading so I’d recommend a second person holding the pet in place.
