Feeding Instructions
Maintenance diet should be fed as your bird’s primary diet (80% of daily feed consumed). The remaining 20% of the diet should be made up of healthy fruit and vegetables (15%) and a small amount of treat foods such as nuts and seeds (5%), to provide variety and enrichment in their diet. Fresh water should be available at all times. Daily Pellet Recommendation: Vetafarm recommends that parrots are fed a minimum of 10% of their bodyweight in pellets per day, for example: 90g Cockatiel (or similar): provide a minimum 9g of Maintenance diet per day. 150g Sun conure (or similar): provide a minimum 15g of Maintenance diet per day. 300g Galah (or similar): provide a minimum of 30g of Maintenance diet per day. These feeding recommendations should be used as a guide only. Be sure to check with your veterinarian for more specific information if your bird has special dietary needs due to a health condition.

When I first tried adding as a side option for my GCC he didn’t like it. 2 months later I still offer half Roudybush Maintenance and half this, unmixed and he eats

My cockatiels are 15 and picky with new foods. Not surprisingly, it took about a week before they'd even touch this although they were curious. Then once they "discovered" it, they went for it! I regret not taking photos of them crowded around their food cup because it's long gone now! I liked it because it was dustless and left no wasted bulk or husks. I also felt good that it didn't have added artificial colors.

I was excited to try this food because it has great ingredients but, unfortunately, my parakeets wouldn't touch it. I'm pretty familiar with the challenges of transitioning birds to a new food but after weeks they still won't touch it. The pellets are a great size for parakeets, cockatiels, and other similar sized hook bills. It has a nice texture too, not too hard and not too crumbley. If only they would eat it!
I wish we liked it

I wanted so badly to love this food but I'm just not. I'm feeding all sorts of parrots - budgies, a conure, quaker, etc... and they're all just burning through it. We switched from harrisons where the 5 pound bag lasts us little over a month, we've nearly finished the big bag in 2 weeks. Their poo also now is really loose and more gross to clean up. Everyone is acting just fine but it's not the solution I was looking for. Also it kind of smells like broccoli cheddar, not in any revolting way I'm just used to pellets smelling like corn or grains lol.
Decent Pellets, some birds like others do not

A bit of a mixed bag with my birds. I mixed it with old pellets and the conures like it OK, but my parakeets will not touch it. Maybe it is just a bit too big for them, It seems like there is less food waste with these pellets than others, a definite plus. I might use it more if all my birds would eat it. But, they are picky.
My cockatiel loved this
My Wheeter loved this. He’s over 30 years old and needs all the supplements he can get to keep him healthy and well. I need his around as long as he can stay.

I tried to give this diet more time before reviewing to see if my birds would eat it. Unfortunately, they are not interested in a new food. I have lovebirds and cockatiels that are used to eating a variety of pelleted diets. However, I have not been able to get any of them to eat this food. The food looked and smelled fresh and clean. I would not rate it lower than a 4 because the issue might just be my birds' preference.
