Clean the hoof thoroughly with hoof pick to remove all dirt, debris, and loosen hoof material. Adjust spray nozzle on bottle. Spray the entire hoof sole and soak the frog area with Vetericyn Mobility Hoof Care. After application, let horse stand on dry ground for 5 minutes. Depending on the severity of hoof condition, additional sprays can be applied daily or as needed. For maximum results, avoid prolonged wet environments or standing water until condition is no longer present. A hoof knife can also be used to clean the frog and remove frog tissue as necessary. Consult with your farrier.
This brilliant cobalt blue gel-spray adheres to everything it touches. Beware! Use gloves! Stains everything, but seems to quickly wear off the hoof that's being treated. Weird. Sprayer needs to be more precise for the the viscosity of the product. Will not purchase this again. Not sure it adhered to the hoof long enough to be effective either.
My mare has pretty good feet but winter mud affects even the strongest hooves. I've tried many different thrush treatments over the years (with mixed success) and this is the best stuff I've come across so far. Even only applied once a week, I've noticed a difference in my mare's feet. Works great to treat and prevent thrush and any other hoof problems I've encountered. I like the blue dye so that I know it's gotten where it's supposed to go, but it will dye your hands (and anything else) blue if you aren't careful. Fortunately the blue fades after washing your hands a few times. Highly recommend!
I rescued a pony in the fall, estimated to be close to 30, very skinny and feet were missing frogs due to the neglect. After weight was put on, we started applying this 2x a week. Hooves are much stronger and farrier was impressed with frog growth! It is a tad messy. I recommend using gloves and the smaller spray side that comes out more narrow. Will definitely keep this on hand from now on!!
it leaked in the plastic bag it was in and even into the box
This product is nice to use on horses' hooves that have been in the wet soil for too long. My only concern is that the blue color does not come off the skin nor clothes. I suggest you wear gloves, and old clothes, because the stain on my hands lasted for several days.
My horses are doing great with this easy to use spray! My gelding has thrush issues fairly regularly and this stuff really works well! My farrier commented how impressed he is by the improvement of their hooves since I started using this. I love how quick and easy it is to use, far superior to squirting out of a bottle, the spray is excellent
I'm quite pleased with being able to order this hoof medicine for my horse from Chewy. It arrived in a timely manner as all my Chewy dog products have.
Using this product on hoof rot and scald in goats.
