Is this safe to use on a pregnant dog?

This shampoo should not be used on pregnant dogs. We recommend consulting your veterinarian to determine the safest course of action for your dog and her puppies based on their breed, size, and how far along they are.
This shampoo/conditioner is safe for pets over the age of 12 weeks old. This is because their immune systems are strong enough to handle the lidocaine in the product without negative side effects. Using this product on puppies, or their pregnant/nursing mother, can expose them to ingredients their small systems may not be equipped to handle quite yet.
We would like to recommend a non-medicated shampoo called the Dog Wash Oatmeal Itch Relief Dog Shampoo. It is gentle enough for frequent use and can be used on pregnant/nursing pups.
