Too hard with big chunks to clean teeth

I used to like these because they smell so good and they were bendable. Now, after three more tries, they seem so hard after the first stick - it sounds like my

I used to like these because they smell so good and they were bendable. Now, after three more tries, they seem so hard after the first stick - it sounds like my dogs are chewing and breaking hard plastic. They are so hard and break into such big pieces that I can't imagine they are cleaning teeth. I am afraid the dogs will choke. The sticks used to be more like another brand that is kinda rubbery and make sense that they are cleaning. If these didn't get so hard, I would love to keep buying.
