Q: Is Glandex safe for dogs with liver disease?
A: For pets with liver issues, we would recommend consulting your veterinarian to see if they would recommend using Glandex with your pets condition. Generally, Glandex is not recommended for pets with liver issues. The warning comes from the combination of Quercetin and Bromelain and their interaction with certain types of medication which, when metabolized, could cause issue in the liver.
Q: What’s the difference between Glandex Advanced Vet Strength Chews and the original Glandex Anal Glad Support Chews and When should I use original strength Glandex versus Glandex Advanced Vet Strength and Is Glandex Advanced Vet Strength better than the Glandex original strength?
A: One formula is not better than the other, as both are veterinarian-formulated to address anal gland issues in pets. The purpose of one over the other is based on the level of anal gland support that your pet needs. The Glandex Advanced Vet Strength Chews expand on the benefits found in our Anal Gland Support Chews and both formulas are patented for the same purpose to support pets’ anal gland health.
Q: Is it better to start with Glandex Advanced Vet Strength Chews or should I start with the original Glandex chews?
A: Choosing which Glandex formulation to start with should be based on the level of anal gland support your pet needs. For most pets, our Glandex original formula is a great starting point. For pets that are known to need higher level of anal gland support, our Glandex Advanced Vet Strength would be a good first option. With both options, it is important to start at half the recommended amount for the first week before increasing to the recommended amount.
Q: If my pet has done well with the original Glandex, should I try Glandex Advanced?
A: If your pet is doing well with our original Glandex formula, there is no need to switch to the Glandex Advanced Vet Strength chews. However, if you have been using our original Glandex formula and are not seeing adequate support for your pet’s anal gland health, then we recommend transitioning to our advanced formula.
Note: if your pet is already using the original Glandex formula, we recommend continuing for at least 3 - 5 weeks before switching to our Advanced formula.
Q: Can I use both Glandex chews at the same time?
A: It is not recommended and is not necessary to give both Glandex formulas together. Instead, we recommend choosing the formula that best suits the level of support that your dog needs. Giving your pet the original chews and the advanced vet strength chews at the same time could lead to potential stomach or digestive upset. If your dog has been taking the original strength chews consistently for 3 - 5 weeks without seeing benefits, we recommend transitioning to our Advanced formula. Please note that when starting our advanced formula you should do so at half the recommended amount for the first week, then slowly increase to the recommended amount.
Q: Are Glandex Supplements safe or do they have any side effects?
A: All of our Glandex supplements are safe, contain all-natural ingredients, and are veterinarian-formulated and recommended. When starting your pet on our Glandex Supplements or transitioning your pet to the advanced chews, giving half the recommended amount for the first week allows their bodies to adjust to the increased amounts of fiber and other key ingredients. While side effects are uncommon, it is possible for mild stomach upset to occur similar to adjusting to high fiber diets.
