Our mini sharpei is adverse to training and has a strong patrol instinct. Combine that with our other two dogs on days where we have guests, workers or other events out of our control like fireworks, and the scene can turn into a crazy worked up frenzy even hours after the 'threat' has gone. This brand of calming chews is the only type I find that wrks on our dogs. They are more receptive to commands and quicker to return to baseline if I prepare them for an incoming disturbance. One each for small dogs is fine , but I will give our mini sharpei 2 if she needs it. Nighttime is calmer, less marking and generally more composed (as the name suggests).
My 12 year old Border Collie has gotten more reactive in the past couple years since his buddy passed away. I started giving these daily about a week ago. I gave him 2 chews in the early evening since we would be away for a couple hours and when we got home there were severe thunderstorm warnings I gave him a third. He slept through a rather violent storm that would have normally been stressful for all.
My Vet introduced me to this product for separation anxiety & fear of loud noises (like thunder). I found it also works well for motion sickness in 2 other dogs. I am sold on this product & dogs love the taste so it makes life easier all the way around
My daschund is 16, has separation anxiety and I’ve tried everything. Tried it for a week, tripling the dose of this and adding hemp oil did not do a thing.
Composure has given Mollie a calmness during the fireworks! No more panting, pacing, and whining! She actually laid down and slept!
Not quite sure what I think. I have a 110 pound Great Pyrenees and 3-4 chews didn’t do much! Any recommendations? Thank you, Marisa
Well I had high hopes for my poor car-ride aversive pup. We tried these chews as instructed, and again with a double dose. No positive effect. Still had car ride anxiety ending with diarrhea. My vet recommended based on mixed client reviews in lieu of meds. $40 out the window. We are sad.
Sadly, this did not work for my senior husky who experiences a lot of anxiety, especially when I'm away. I tried even doubling & tripling like the package said we could, and that didn't work either.
My Penny needs to take this a little longer as it's not carrying through for the entire 8 hours
I purchased on the recommendation of a trainer I knew. They did not calm my dog down at all. Not even slightly. It was as if I was giving him a bone as a treat. I even purchased the long lasting. My dog is 12 lbs. it say for dogs up to 50 lbls so I broke the chew in half. After not seeing the slightest improvement I gave him the whole chew. Still nothing. May work for some dogs but not for mine. These are expensive and especially when they don’t help. I spend so much money hoping one will work. No luck yet.
