What’s the difference between Glucosamine Sulfate and Glucosamine Hydrochloride?
Glucosamine sulfate is a well-researched form of glucosamine that provides more cartilage support and pain relief than glucosamine hydrochloride. The glucosamine sulfate in our products is naturally derived from shellfish, whereas some other glucosamine products are produced in a laboratory.

Can I use this for my cat?
Yes! Although the product is formulated for dogs, the all-natural ingredients will help your cat’s joint pain. The combination of Glucosamine, Chondroitin, MSM, and all the vitamins and amino acids will reduce inflammation, pain, and keep your cat healthy and mobile. For use with cats, you will need to adjust the dosage as follows:
Small cats up to 8 lbs: Take 1/2 tablet daily
Larger cats 8 to 15lbs: Take 1/2 tablet twice daily
Simply crumble the tablets up and toss them in with your cat's dry or canned food.
My dog is (or may be) diabetic. Is Early Stage Hip + Joint Complex safe?
Our product is generally safe for dogs with diabetes. However, if your dog has any health issues, we always recommend that you obtain your veterinarian’s approval prior to use.
My dog is (or may be) allergic to beef. Does Early Stage Hip + Joint Complex contain beef?
Beef is not an active ingredient in the Advanced Hip + Joint Complex, but a small amount is used as a natural flavoring. Our organic beef flavoring is made from USDA-inspected beef. It is uniquely processed, leaving very little of the reactive proteins available. By NOT having a full protein mass it can be used in "hypo-allergenic" diets and is generally considered safe for dogs with allergies. If you know that your dog has a specific beef allergy, or you suspect this may be the case, we suggest that you contact your veterinarian and discuss the beef flavoring that we use. And when in doubt, with your veterinarian’s approval we also suggest using a small or partial dose to observe possible allergic symptoms, and then decide to use or discontinue use. You may also want to use our Advanced Hip + Joint Complex formula instead as it comes in chicken flavor and has no beef-related ingredients at all.
My dog has a sensitive stomach. Will this product work for her?
Yes, if your dog has a sensitive stomach try easing into the full-strength dose indicated on the label over a 2-week period. It’s also helpful to use our VetSmart Probiotic Nutrient Enhancer to balance your dog’s gut.
