We have a 70-ish lb. staffy. He gets frightened by thunder and fireworks. He also could go on 52 walks most nights just because he loves to go on walks. He mellows out and plops down to sleep within 15 or so minutes. It's the best thing without having to get a prescription. It works on my large muscle cupcake, and we have only been giving him 2. Guess at his size, 3 is recommended.
I've got 3 dogs and 2 of them have "issues". One is a rescue terrier who is terrified of thunder, the other is a poorly bred Aussie with behavioral problems. The terrier refuses to eat these treats, so unfortunately, we can't review his reaction to them. The Aussie definitely calms down and is pretty tired after having these. I use them when I know people are coming over or there may be something I can't control coming along (fireworks). With the right training and timing, these seem to do a good job at slowing the brain down, which is all I can ask for sometimes!
My dog may be one of the pickiest eaters that I know. Most often when given a dog treat, he will literally sniff it and walk away. With these treats, he simply devours them like a toddler with ice cream! I am very happy to have found a treat that not only calms him down, but is something he really likes.
My dog (80 pound. 4 year old Female. Setter/Poodle/Wheaten Terrier/Golden Retriever mutt) can get quite neurotic when there’s a change up in her daily life. She gets a three mild walk at minimum daily it’s anxiety not energy. Over the past year I’ve put in a solid amount of time purchasing, trying out, and making quick notes on the various calming chews. Based on two weeks of usage (six times) these DO seem to have an impact! I’m impressed with the effectiveness for the cost. I do pair them with a Smart Bones lavender chew. While I did not find these to be impactful alone. My dog really likes them, and she’s pickier then most the price imo very reasonable. Also want to mention, Quiet Moments with melatonin, for senior dogs was recommended to me by my vet. We had to put our kitty down shorty after a move. The two events caused night distress. I had tried two products, wasn’t impressed with either. I couldn’t praise Quiet Moments with Melatonin more too!
I am so happy to have found the Vibeful melatonin turkey flavored soft chews. These have been absolutely perfect for situations to help my dog calm down and feel at ease. I have used for storms, company coming over and loud parties in my neighborhood. He just loves the smell and taste and thinks he is getting a regular treat and in no time he is more relaxed and unphased by the commotion that is going on around him. Normally he has anxiety over these types of events and these have been a life saver! Wonderful ingredients that I feel comfortable giving to my pet.
Not again would I use this for my GSD. Not fair to judge the product by my dog. I will just say it made my dog more hyper. I just rated it not great rather than terrible . I wouldn't say it was terrible just not great for my dog.
Although my dog enjoys the taste they didn’t seem to make a difference in regards to calmness for my high energy dog. Guess I’ll keep trying other calming chews to see if I can find some that work for her.
The Vibeful calming chews worked well on my dog this 4th of July. My huge lab gets frightened of thunderstorms, fireworks. And other loud noises. The chews kept him calmer even though I still needed to bring him indoors. He stayed in one spot and didn't pace around those house. I am definitely using these chews again on stressful occasions. I highly recommend.
The Vibeful calming melatonin supplements for dogs are great! I have two dogs and one absolutely hates thunderstorms and fireworks! Any loud noise honestly. I can give him one of this and he now sleeps through it all. I do have to give it to him about an hour in advance for him to be totally relaxed. If I know a storm is coming or its a night of celebration I will give it to him about an hour before. If not they still help once they kick in. I will also give them both one if I know I’m going to be away for awhile so they don’t experience anxiety. I feel like they are made of great quality ingredients and trust this brand. As of now I have no complaints and 100% satisfied.
I have 4 small dogs that are very hyper when they have to go for a car ride to get their nails trimmed. They bark a lot in the car and once we are there they continue barking and jumping. They are good dogs but don’t like car rides or nail trimmings. I gave each one of them one of the soft chews about an hour before we had to leave. They seemed to like the taste as they ate it right away. By the time we got their harness on and in the car, three of them were much calmer and did less barking and sat pretty still in the car. One of them it seemed to have no effect on. She is pretty high strung. They were pretty well behaved while getting their nails trimmed and on the ride home it was very quiet as they did all lay down. The next 4 hours or so at home were also pretty quiet. I would say they worked pretty good. Not all dogs will have the same effect but 3 out of 4 is pretty good for us.
