Increase feeding intake by 1/2 cup for every 20 lbs. over 100 lbs.
Amounts are recommended for Puppies with moderate levels of activity and no adverse weather conditions. These are guidelines and should be adjusted as needed to maintain optimum body condition.
FEEDING PUPPIES: Puppies will typically start nibbling moistened dog foods at 3 to 4 weeks of age. Feed as much as the puppy will eat in 20 minutes in 4 feeding intervals spaced throughout the day. May be mixed with water, broth or milk at a ratio of 3 parts food to 1 part liquid. To ensure product freshness, do not leave moistened food out for more than 30 minutes. Puppies will be weaned from milk by 3 weeks of age. Continue to feed up to 4 times per day. Within a few months, the puppies may be transitioned to a self-feeder. After age one, feed to maintain good body condition, using the feeding chart as a guide.
FEEDING TIPS - CHANGING DIET: When changing from a different food to any VICTOR dog food formula, transition your dog to VICTOR over the course of one week to 10 days, gradually increasing the amount of VICTOR every few days.
Schedule regular veterinarian checkups for optimum health of your animal.
Keep fresh water available at all times.

It is best to make a transition from one brand of dog food to another over a period of a week to 10 days. Gradually replace your current food with Victor formula increasing the percentage of the mix to 100% within 7 - 10 days.

The breeder started our field Golden Retriever on the Victor High Pro Plus large breed dog food but our vet recommended feeding her food that had meat as the 1st ingredient and not meal. Since she was already on this brand we noticed the puppy food had meat listed first and the other ingredients were the same so we switched her to the puppy formula. She had not had any issues with the change and seems to enjoy eating it.

I was really excited to try this out. We have been using Purina Pro Plan for 1 dog and brought a puppy home starting on this. Purina has been great for us but it's just too expensive. I thought this would be our end game. Based off the ingredients, reviews, and people I know that use it. This not only upset my dogs stomach that was switching but also the puppy. Both, after about a month and a half in, were not having solid stools. We switched back to Purina and everything is back to normal. I will say for giant breeds (which is what I have) I think the kibble is way too small.

Victor Hi-Pro Plus Large Breed Puppy comes in a very sturdy bag. I know because my dog tried to chew through it when I went to get the mail and he wasn't able to break it open. The bag is very thick plastic to seal in the freshness. I was really surprised at the small size of the kibble. The little size makes it easier for my puppy to eat it. It must taste really good because my dog really likes it a lot. Since he's been on it, I've noticed his stool is more firm and there is less of it. This is a good sign since it means he's absorbing the nutrients from it well. Great food at a great price.
