The chicken giblet treat should be relatively low phosphorus as there is no bone in this treat. There are only two ingredients in this product and that's chicken heart and liver. Due to it only being a treat, the manufacturer doesn't have a full nutritional breakdown.
Do these treats get refrigerated?
Answer by • Dec 06, 2017
These treats do not require refrigeration.
What is the ACCURATE CARBOHYDRATE PERCENTAGE per MANUFACTURER on an AS FED BASIS and AS DRY BASIS?
My cat is diabetic so its crucial to be accurate on the carbs count.
Thank you!”
Answer by • Nov 21, 2021
Vital Essentials does not test for the carbohydrate content for these treats as they are not a complete and balanced meal. Due to your pet's diagnosed condition, we recommend consulting your veterinarian to ensure this is a suitable option for your pet.
I got these treats just to see if my cat would be willing to try them. I kind of thought she would turn her nose up at them, especially after I opened the bag and smelled them! LOL But she went wild for them and still will eat around her regular food to get at these. I only give her one heart at a time and only perhaps once a week. They still stink to high heaven, but my cat seems to think they ARE heaven! I would definitely recommend them.

Roxy looooves!!
my cat isn’t too picky and LOVES food toppers. I bought these back when she was about 3 months or so? and ever since then she absolutely goes crazy for them. I add them onto her food and she just gobbles it down. The smell is definitely a little rancid LOL but it’s fine, it’s expected.

Big Hit!
Our Savannah, Ozzie, went crazy over these. Our smaller silky long hair was a little picker but loved certain pieces and "The great and powerful Oz", finished up what she didn't want.

Bloody stool
We’ve been feeding our two cats these treats for a while and they seemed to love it. With this latest batch, the older one wouldn’t even touch it but the younger one ate it up like usual. Within a day we started noticing her stool going softer and softer until she was having diarrhea and then eventually noticed blood in her stool. We tried to determine if there was a change in her diet that caused this and when I dug through the reviews and found someone else whose cat experienced the same issue, we figured we’d stop the snacks and see what happens. Within 2 days her stool is back to normal. This is the last time we’ll be buying these snacks and I urge whoever is considering to choose something different.

complete bust
I give this to the cats like I would any other treat, and they are not interested. It looks like they don't know what to do with it, which is exactly how I feel about it too. Am I supposed to rehydrate these? I tried that and they ran away faster. For us, these are expensive treats that aren't worth the money.

One likes One Doesn’t
I got these and another type of treat to try and one of my cats will not touch these, not sure if it’s just because they’re super tough or what, but it’s organ meat so that’s to be expected.

She likes them but...
Our cat Luna really likes these, but it's worth noting that they're also very rich, so be careful how many you feed your cat pals--one or two is sufficient, in my experience, and maybe just a couple times/week!

My cats threw up
I’d give a -5 star if I could. Terrible, terrible purchase. Both my cats threw up. One threw up 3 minutes after taking 2, another threw up about 20 minutes after having 5 (no hairballs involved). This is the only change to their diet lately. I threw away the rest

I don’t know how these are considered edible??
I bought these, along with a lot of other things, to try out to use to enrich my kitties’ meals a bit! I quite literally cannot describe accurately how disgusting these things are.
First of all, they are hard as rocks and my babies physically could not chew them up… so I soaked them in chicken broth to try and soften them up a bit and they didn’t get any softer.
Secondly, they we covered in a disgusting thick grease! I don’t know how it’s even possible for them to be rock solid and greasy at the same time???
Third of all, they smell absolutely FOUL!!
My kitties wouldn’t eat but a nibble or two of them, and I cannot blame my babies!
Instead of this, I highly recommend Instinct’s freeze dried raw meal topper!!! Its more affordable, has good ingredients, smells great, and my cats love it!!

Cat loves these
Along with the minnows, this is my cats favorite treat. Always eats them up.
