I was afraid our three cats first reaction to this food would mean I'd be feeding it to our shepherd, but by the third meal, two of them started going crazy for it, cleaning their plates in one sitting. The third cat is still not a fan, but I would definitely purchase again. Two out of three isn't bad with picky cats! I do wish they would allow us to purchase single bags so we could mix proteins or purchase less than three at a time.

Hello. Vital Essentials has its benefits. However, so often it’s very hit or miss on quality. The most recent patties I purchased were from a batch that had very little myoglobin thus the patty was very sticky to eat and the bone chunks were to small and too thin thus it was very hard to remove them since my cat vomits if she eats them in the meat and with little myoglobin, it took an extremely long time to feed my cat. However, this company doesn’t add kelp which is a big selling point for me due to my cat being sensitive and allergic to it and kelp causing health issues for my cat.

My cat eats dry food, but I thought I would try giving him this Vital Raw turkey pattie since most cats are carnivores, or at least I thought they were. Turns out, my cat is not one of them. I gave this a three star review because I wasn’t sure how to rate it. I didn’t want to give it only one star since I don’t think it was actually the food, but rather that he just doesn’t like anything but dry. Maybe I should have tried cooking it, but the whole point is that it’s a “raw” pattie”.

I was surprised when my package arrived on dry ice but as this is a frozen product, that was perfect. I have never fed raw food to my cats before so I did a deep dive on it before proceeding. I have two indoor cats with sensitive tummies so I decided to try the raw turkey with my outdoor cats, who likely have a more robust gut flora than my inside cats. They devoured the raw patties that I served slightly cooler than room temperature. The ingredients were minimal and the patties smelled like raw turkey. I would say if your veterinarian okays feeding raw, to try the Vital Essentials brand. Chewy’s packaging of the product assures one that the product is kept at ideal temperature and comes quickly.

I am sorry to say my three-year-old finicky feline will not even taste turkey. I not only followed instructions of how to blend it in with his other food, but I also halved that amount and then quartered it! He walks over to the bowl and smells it and then leaves and won't eat all day! What can I say? He doesn't like turkey! I even tried feeding some to the neighbors cat and he wouldn't try it either.

All right, all right My big girl treasure who is a 10-year-old rescue kitty didn’t care much for these. I think I may have the only cat that prefers kibble over fresh frozen defrosted patties. I was worried the smell was gonna be horrendous, but it wasn’t. I took them out in the morning, let them defrost, served it to her in the afternoon and she didn’t care for it. She went right back to her dry.. Maybe I need to try another flavor. But the ease of the frozen Patty was really nice and I liked the ingredients. Seems much better than the canned food

I don’t believe it has anything to do with the product itself But more due to the fact that they are a little older and sat in their ways. This product was received with the best of care. The patties arrived frozen, packed in dry ice and padded container. I thawed the patties and refrigerated them. The cats lived the patties. I believe that they would have ate them all at one serving. I have not seen them enjoy food as much as they enjoyed these patties. I recommend them to all pet owners.
