Vital Essentials Frozen Raw Patties Grain-Free Chicken Entree Dog Food, 6-lb bag

I gave my dog Mitzi her first meal of Raw Grain-Free Chicken Entree and saw that she was suspicious of the smell and did not immediately start to eat it. That was surprising, because normally, she stands on her hind legs as I approach with the bowl so she can get a quick taste of her food before the bowl even touches the floor. She kept walking to and from the bowl until she finally took a mouthful. And then spit it on the floor. She did that 2 more times until I took the food away for my sake. I didn't want to wash the entire kitchen floor. I refilled her bowl with her usual food, and she gobbled it up. I had received 6 lbs of food that my dog refused to eat. I don't believe in wasting food, so what to do? I did the only thing I could think of. In a pot, I mashed the defrosted patty with a little water and cooked it. The kitchen developed the pleasant smell of stew cooking. When I was certain it was thoroughly cooked, I mashed it further to a consistency Mitzi would like. She has been eating it and obviously loving it ever since. I've added 3 photos to prove my point. 1 - She is eating it with gusto. 2 - She is licking the bowl inside and out, cleaner than I've ever seen it, 3 - She is licking the floor to capture any of the splashes that had occurred from her overly eager eating. The moral of the story is Mitzi does not like raw food, but once the food is cooked, whatever is in it is definitely delicious! She has been eating it with the same enthusiasm ever since. If she could talk, she would definitely recommend it to all her furry friends. As far as my recommending it, it appears to agree with her stomach. There has been no change in her poops, nor has she become gassy. All dogs would love the food's ingredients. It's just that some dogs like raw food and some don't.
