What is the life of the battery and is removable from the unit for recharging?

This fountain comes with a rechargeable battery. In timer mode, it stays on standby for up to 50 days after a full charge. In sensor mode, standby time varies based on how often your pet drinks.

I thought it would be amazing. I was wrong.

I'll talk about the bad first. The pump is impossible to connect to Wi-Fi. Then it will lose connection to our phone and our wifi. We have barely had it a week,

I'll talk about the bad first. The pump is impossible to connect to Wi-Fi. Then it will lose connection to our phone and our wifi. We have barely had it a week, and we consistently have to re-pair the pump to the wifi. But as of today, 11/6, we are not able to re-pair the pump to the wifi or our phone. The instructions are terrible to follow. And there is no clear indication of what we need to do to fix this problem. The good. The bowl is 10L. We have three full-sized golden retrievers. When it did work, the notifications were great. How this should work. Just plug in the device, and it always runs if it loses connection to WiFi or the phone app, and it does not go into a complete shutdown, then, where my Wife and I have had to add a side bowl for the dog's water while we pull our hair out trying to get the pump working again. If Chewy can guide me toward a refund or have the company reach out for guidance, that would be great. If you are considering buying this, think again until they make the water pump more reliable.

I wasn’t sure if my dog and two cats would like this. My cats love drinking from the sink faucet and since we live on well water - I have to completely clean (with soap) my dogs water bowl. I love water dispenser because it holds a lot of water and the cats love it because it does have a faucet. I can definitely say that all three animals drink more water now than I could habe provided them manually.

I thought this would be better for my dogs, but after the first week it still got grimy and smelled like a fishtank. I was hoping it would keep the water cleaner, but film still forms on the inside of the stainless steel where the water is. Having boxers, they are a bit on the slobbery side and there was slobber inside the bowl under the top layer. I was told it should last up to a week and with two dogs it is obviously less than that so it gets replenished more often than that but doesn't take long to get grimy. I have only had it for 3-4 weeks so the filter is brand new, and is already disgusting. I was hoping it would have lasted longer, maybe I am not using it correctly, I don't know. Not impressed.
