This trimmer is legit. It is quite heavy duty and has a rubberized handle that is easy to grip while grooming your animal. Easy to wipe down and clean. As far as the sound, it is quiet with just a hum. The cord is thick but could be longer depending on the area of your home you groom your animal in. This is a nice addition to any grooming tool needed for your animal.

I think starting when your cat is a kitten is the best idea. But if you have a chill cat, this is a good way to get at mats with no fear of cutting their skin.
