Be Careful!!!!
By JWJW on Mar 5, 2021
Unfortunately, I bought this food and feed to my dogs and one has been diagnosed with DCM (Dilated Cardiomyopathy) most likely attributed to this food. I emailed the company about the lack of Taurine but they never responded, I did keep feeding the food but supplemented with Honest Kitchen because it had added Taurine, however, it wasn't enough. It does state on the fine print to not feed this food on its own but to add canned meat dog food but it is too late for me! Hopefully my pup makes it but he has clinical signs now which is not a good prognosis. : (

My picky eater loves it! Allergies gone!
By Five7 on Oct 15, 2020
My pitbull mix is allergic to everything. I have gone through all the Zignature food and while she was fine with Lamb for a while, she evenatually developed an allergy to it. Tired of her being allergic to what seems to be all animal protein based kibble, I thought I'd try vegetarian food. I went through a few large bags of V-dog and then my girl started throwing up at the end of every meal on the last bag. Not to mention she didn't really like it and would eat it hesitantly. Walk Along's vegan recipe is the first food she has gotten excited about in a LONG time. She scarfs it down and sniffs around for more. Zero rashes or getting sick. I'm so relieved! This is NOT a complete VEGAN food
By Terrible on Sep 29, 2020
Please do yourself a favor & find yourself a different vegan dog food. This is NOT a complete food for you dog. It will challenge their bodies, maybe not right away but a few years down the line. We are devastated to have not been able to reverse its effects on our 6yo pug after it was determined she had cardiomyopathy & died 2mo later. Save yourself the heartache, don't buy.

Delicious Compassionate food for my babe!
By LacyMae on Aug 1, 2020
This is a reasonably priced, high-quality food for my sensitive senior pup. I think it's served her very well, maintains her weight, and she enjoys it, which is key. I think she actually likes this food more than she liked the Wellness Salmon Grain Free limited ingredient food I was feeding her before.

missing ESSENTIAL amino acids...
By hurricane on Jun 29, 2020
I found out it didn’t have Taurine or L-Carnatine, both essential amino acids for a Healthy heart. Apparently this food is designed as a “base” for a “non-vegan” topper? Switching to V-Dog now as it includes both essential acids. Wish this was more transparent. I read every single label and this still slipped by me. Know what you’re getting before you purchase. Read everything, including all reviews. Still a great quality product, but definitely not suitable, on its own, to keep your dog happy and healthy. I’ve noticed a significant drop in energy since on this food and just figured it was because it was hot out and he didn’t want to walk. Nope! His body was literally shutting down. Finally found the right one!
By SammyBuzz on Apr 27, 2020
We have been looking for the right vegan food for our dogs for the last 3 months and found that one of our dogs is sensitive to grain. This food smells fresh and is filled with nothing but good ingredients. Our dogs both love it.

My dog doesn’t seem to like it...
By Vegan on Mar 13, 2020
I have a chihuahua mix and she rather not eat than eat this. It’s a shame because I was hopeful for a new vegan food different from Halo Vegan. It may be good for some dogs though.
