I bought this as a cheaper alternative to the butter comb used by the Girl with the Dogs YouTube channel. I haven’t used the original butter comb, but this seems to work as well based on the ease of use and results. I use it on my long haired cat, and when I’m done, his looks like I gave him a blowout. I’m satisfied.

Great comb for long haired cats

We have a Himalayan and a DLH who get brushed at least twice a day. This comb works very well to remove loose hair from their undercoats which prevents matting.

Love it! Works great for my Somali and lab’s coats! Somali has long thin-ish hair with powdery soft undercoat, lab is a lab. I hold it under a 45 degree angle for most of the groom. Lightweight enough, my wrist doesn’t get tired brushing these two. I have it on my coffee table to do quick daily brush sessions while I’m watching a show. My friend tested it on her two shorthaired cats and it worked great as well. Now I want to find a longhaired double coated dog and see if I can brush out mountains lol. I originally saw a more expensive version in videos on Girl With The Dogs channel (her brush is by Chris Christensen), and wanted to find something now quite as high brow but with the same teeth pattern and also lightweight. This brand fits the bill for me!
