Our gelding is very sensitive to flies on his legs, so we were so hopeful about these fly boots. However, he has a callus/sore just above the coronary band on the front of his leg which we wrap nightly with a sport Velcro wrap. That wrap protects the callus and keeps it from breaking open and bleeding. In one afternoon, the fly boots ruined all our hard work on keeping that callus intact. Moose is not a very active horse, as he is 25 years old, but all it took was for him to walk across our arena and stand around for the fly boots to rub that sore raw and bleeding.
