Lay the WeatherBeeta coat along your dog's back.
Slide it into the correct position on the dog.
Firstly, do up the chest closure area for a snug fit (but not too tight) for complete protection.
Adjust and do up the belly strap to secure the cost around the dog's body (not too tight). It is essential that your dog's coat fits comfortably so they are able to still move freely and will be less likely to try and remove their coat.
Remove excess dirt, mud, and hair from the coat.
Place the coat in a mesh wash bag to contain all the straps and buckles, protecting them from being damaged and protecting your machine.
Machine wash the coat on gentle delicate cycle (front loading washer) using mild soap or a reputable and recommended coat cleaning wash.
Do not use detergents or fabric conditioners as you risk compromising your WeatherBeeta's unique waterproof and breathable coating (on select coats).
For best results, re-proof your outdoor coat to add durable water repellency and revitalise breathability. Use a reputable and recommended coat proofer (always follow the manufacturer's proofing instructions).
Line dry your WeatherBeeta coat - do not tumble dry.

I ordered this in a bit of a panic with an upcoming storm with unprecedented below zero temps and wind chill temps predicted in minus 40 below zero range. I had other coats for my approximately 21 pound labradoodle but nothing that warm. I looked all over to find a vendor that would ship this to me in time. No luck until I thought of Chewy! It was here just in time before the storm really got going Thank you Chewy!!! As for the coat it was so well made but flared out a little around her her hind end. I decided to wash and dry it and sure enough it softened right up and fits her perfectly. It is very warm and contoured to fit. Weaterbeeta knows how to fit right. The best horse blankets. She is still wearing this in place of lighter weight coats as we are still in minus zero temps. She seems to know this is warm and easily acclimated to the over the head slip on. I love this coat and am grateful to both Weaterbeeta and Chewy for outstanding products and reliability.
I was recommended this brand and I decided to research which winter jacket type will keep my pup warm during the winter time. I specifically wanted a jacket that can withstand harsh winds from where we live. Although the colors are limited (I believe they sell a yellow one), the coat is certainly well made. I definitely wanted the jacket length to fit and cover the backside at least so I did measure it out based on the instructions stated. My dog has a bigger chest and a smaller neck frame so figuring out which size to order was a little tricky. I didn’t go for the 14 inch because I did see a photo where it was very small on a dachshund and my dog’s back length size is slightly similar. I definitely did not go for a bigger size 18 inch since the measurements seemed way too big for my dog. I decided to order an in between size 16 inch which it did fit her (not perfectly - the Velcro straps only covers half way) but it wasn’t extremely tight or too big! Overall, my dog is no longer shivering and freezing when we go outside for our walks. She does look like a walking traffic cone but I find it adorable!
The picture is wrong, the color is more like a very bright safety cone. Size runs bigger. The design is not perfect, no hole for the leash. Insulated. Very stiff. 2 rubber strings on the back do not serve a purpose and the is no adjustment. Since I did not find anything better for now we are using this one and so far my dog likes it.
I read all of the sizing charts but unfortunately too few of the reviews. The sizing runs VERY large. And it is VERY orange
I’ve used Weatherbeeta blankets for my horse for decades, so I knew this would be a great choice for our Labradoodle after moving to the damp & chilly PNW. He looks great in it and it seems quite comfortable for him. Fit is true to size. I was between ordering the 22 and 24 and the 22 is exactly right. Measure twice. Chewy makes it so easy with their fast delivery and excellent customer service!!
Great visibility - seems to glow even more in the dark, nice lining for warmth, easy to get on and waterpoof. Perfect for rainy day walks or bathroom breaks and helpful in winter as well.
Sturdy construction and we love the fact that it goes on and off easily.
My dog is a super princess when it comes to rain. He's a southern hound type dog (Weimeraner/Plott hound mix) so he's got thin fur (only one layer). Also, when it pours, he just hates it. Refuses to go out even though he has to go. He always looks at me like I'm trying to murder him by taking him outside for walk in the rain! With this on, his body stays nice and warm and most of all dry. He's much happier going outside now when it's raining when he has this on. I bought both 20" and 22" to try for him. He's a medium sized dog (around 65lbs), but tall, leanish, and evenly proportioned. The 20" fit better overall around his neck and chest but the length to the tail was about 2 inches too short (and I was looking for maximum body coverage). So I went with the 22" which has the perfect length neck to tail. The neck is a little large but not so much that it doesn't fit him just fine (he's got a long neck but a neck warmer would solve this issue, no problem). And the belly velcro makes the fix just right. The belly band doesn't cut into his pelvic area so there are no issues going to the bathroom. Also, there are elastic leg bands that I haven't used yet. I will try them out when it starts snowing or gets even colder as it will definitely help the back part of the coat to stick to his body and not shift (though it doesnt shift much anyways). Overall, huge recommendation. He's super dry body-wise after a walk in the rain. And its much warmer than his other fleece coat so great for the cold weather. Another plus is he's like a doggy cone. Bright, bright, bright! He's got a black/brown brindle coloring so it's hard to see him in the dark. This makes it so I'm not worried about cars when walking him at night (in a dark lit area).
The neckline is big for a small dog and the part between the legs is a bit wide. That is why I would only recommend this item for dogs with a larger chest.
Let us get the cons out of the way: Only reason why I gave this coat 4 stars instead of 5 is because I wish there were secondary straps that connected under the belly by the rear legs like the ones for the front legs so that the coat doesn't sway when Dynasty (my Dane) moves, and when she does she has this awkward/funny walk just due to the chest piece that goes from the neck to u der her belly. I'm unsure why it's making her walk that way because they're not scraping her legs. She may just need to get used to walking in it. Other than that, it actually fits her! She is 186 lbs and the velcro straps are a litttttllle bit of a stretch to attach, but still works! This can fit EXTRA giant dogs with the largest size offered on here. I LOVE how it's thickly padded, very easily seen in the dark with the bright orange (the orange picture shown through advertising is much lighter in color. This is Orange orange colored.) and includes a reflective strip on the back. There's a slit between the shoulders to put a leash through which is also great. The material seems very waterproof which is going to be great during winter time! We plan on getting pjs for her to wear underneath it during those colder months and she'll be good to go! Thank you, Chewy!
