If water got on it would it ruin the leash?

This leash will not be ruined if water gets on it. Example: If you are walking your dog in a mild rain then it should resist water, up to a certain point. But if left out in water for a long period of time it will dry out the leather. At that point, it could crack. If you do leave the leash out in the rain or water, we would recommend wiping it down with leather wipes that will clean, condition and protect the leather.
