If water got on it would it ruin the leash?

This leash will not be ruined if water gets on it. Example: If you are walking your dog in a mild rain then it should resist water, up to a certain point. But if left out in water for a long period of time it will dry out the leather. At that point, it could crack. If you do leave the leash out in the rain or water, we would recommend wiping it down with leather wipes that will clean, condition and protect the leather.
My dog has fragile skin. Is the leather rough

The last leash you’ll ever need

When I first got my dog I had bought several different leashes, having to replace them pretty often because the handles would wear out. I got this leash several years ago now and it’s still amazing. I prefer fixed leashes over retractable ones. The leather feels amazing, way better than nylon options in my opinion. I was worried when I ordered it that it would seem cheap, not so. Order this leash. You won’t regret it.

The perfect leash

Beautiful leather, stitched so no stretching, brass rivets and strong brass swivel. I would equate this to high-quality horse reins, stiff for the first day or two but with use it softens beautifully. I use it all day with my companion dog and this leash gets better with age--one year of use so far and no wear. I rub neatsfoot oil into the leather about once a month. Terrific price for this top-quality product. Handle is perfect size for adult female, lined with soft leather and very comfortable.

Nice sturdy leash

I love this leash. It's very sturdy and well made. My only problem is the hole for the hand is so small. My hands aren't that big, but they do not fit in it without it getting stuck in the hole. My husband has very large hands, so he can't get his in it at all. Otherwise this is an awesome leash.

sturdy and attractive

One of the reasons I decided to switch to leather was because I wanted greater strength and durability. I bought two of these for my collies, and they are strong enough to handle any large breed, maybe even a horse. They make tack for horses also so you can be sure of getting a quality item. Love their brand, including the decorated leashes and collars. So unique.

Leash for a puppy

I returned it. It was way to wide. It was for my little puppy Westie. It was good quality, it just was not right for Charlie.
