Does this "have to have" 2.4gh internet speed in order to work or can it work on 5.0gh?

The Feeder-Robot does require a 2.4 GHz connection. Most routers offer dual-band, meaning they broadcast both 2.4 and 5 GHz connections. If you aren't sure how to check, you can contact your internet provider and they can walk you through accessing your router to enable the 2.4 connection.

What is the smallest portion size the feeder can give?

The Feeder-Robot dispenses up to 1/2 cup of food in 1/8-cup increments when using the 1/8-cup Dispenser, or up to 1 cup of food in 1/4-cup increments when using the 1/4-cup Dispenser, 1 to 4 times per day (or up to 8 times if using the app).

DONOT BUY IT

I bought this item less than two years ago. AND It's already BROKEN! I CANNOT believe it. Customer service told me their guarantee only lasts for one year. The item

I bought this item less than two years ago. AND It's already BROKEN! I CANNOT believe it. Customer service told me their guarantee only lasts for one year. The item had shown sensor problem multiple times, but when I restarted the machine, the alarm would disappear. I thought it was like an computer- Sometimes your just need to restart it and it will goes back to normal. But that wasn't the case. If your machine shows any issues, please deal with it right away--replace or refund it! otherwise, it will eventually break down completely, and you won't be able to get any support. 300 dollars for less than two years of use? Not worth it at all!

Do not waste your money. Mine has been broken since almost immediately after my warranty expired. I get motor fault errors and I’ve tried every trick to clean it

Do not waste your money. Mine has been broken since almost immediately after my warranty expired. I get motor fault errors and I’ve tried every trick to clean it and reset it and it still does not work now. I’m being told that I have to open the cover and start messing around with the electronics inside and even that is unlikely to make it start working again. I wish I hadn’t wasted the money.

I bought this directly from the company so I could personally select color of machine and hopper. After a software update last year, my feeder was removed from the app and unable to be relinked. I had several chat attempts to troubleshoot, so many calls, emails....NOTHING. I kept being told to troubleshoot my wifi....eventually they sent out a refurbished unit. Same problem, unable to link. Again called, chatted, emailed...they told me the "new" unit was registered to someone else. Great. At this point it is out of warranty and the app is useless. I bought it so I could make sure it was dropping food, working correctly, etc when I'm traveling or just out and about. Now I have to hope the manual mode is working. Which every now and then it starts dropping extra food and I have to reset the manual mode. Expensive piece of junk especially since their customer service is so subpar. If you look online, others had the same issue with the app update. Makes me want to stay FAR away from their litter boxes.

Didn't think I'd need it for the cats, but it's great

I have two cats and always just hand-poured a cup of dry food for them each morning. I'd never considered an automatic feeder but got this as a gift and was surprised

I have two cats and always just hand-poured a cup of dry food for them each morning. I'd never considered an automatic feeder but got this as a gift and was surprised how much I like it. It just takes one thing off my to-do list every day, and I like that I can program it to space out the food so my fatter cat doesn't eat it all in the morning and have nothing throughout the day. Only complaint is sometimes in the app when I hit "give a snack" it doesn't actually dispense anything, and I have to try several times or close/reopen and then try again. The notifications can be delayed too, which is weird since I've never had a problem with real-time notifications on the litter robot.

Great when it works. Customer support is subar

Despite the price tag, I was delighted to buy Whisker's auto-feeder when it came out. We've been really happy with the litter robot that Whisker makes and were hopeful

Despite the price tag, I was delighted to buy Whisker's auto-feeder when it came out. We've been really happy with the litter robot that Whisker makes and were hopeful that this would be a solid, lasting auto-feed solution. The feeder worked great until it didn't. The feeder jammed, and I got an error that told me to reach out to Customer Support. I reached out and didn't hear back from them for over a week. I followed up a few times and finally heard back from them over two weeks after my initial outreach (by this point, we already bought a second cheap auto-feeder in an effort to maintain feeding sanity in the house). So, after 2+ weeks, Whisker sent some basic troubleshooting that didn't fully fix the issue. I reached out for additional support. No answer. I reached out asking if I could get a replacement since I was within my 1 year warranty. No answer. Bummer.

Wifi connectivity connectivity broke just after the warranty expire. Terrible customer service that doesn't respond to emails. Hours and hours of troubleshooting over several weeks only to be told I'd need to buy a new unit. Now just a glorified pet feeder with no smart features that make it so expensive.
