Pregnant and lactating female dogs will require 2 - 3 times as much food as Adult feeding guidelines shown. Puppies start to eat solid foods at 3 - 4 weeks of age and should have free access to solid food from this time until weaning.
On days 1 & 2 of the change, you should have plenty of your pet's old food left. Fill the bowl with 3 quarters of the old food, and one quarter of SPORTMiX Wholesomes. On days 3 & 4, add in another quarter, so you have half old food, half SPORTMiX Wholesomes. On days 5 & 6, mix one quarter old food and 3 quarters SPORTMiX Wholesomes. In only 7 days, your pet will be on an all-new diet of SPORTMiX Wholesomes.

We were unfortunately affected by the Victor recall and had to scramble to find a new kibble quickly. One of the members of our 6 pack is highly allergic to several ingredients that's in most dog foods. So this is an extremely stressful undertaking for me to find food he can eat. This kibble met his requirements ingredients wise, but I'm not thrilled with the results after feeding it for a couple of weeks. I'm happy to report that no one got the poops from having to make a quick switch in food. But the gas is off the charts. They could kill a horse or power a fleet of cars with the toxic fumes that flow out of their bums. My 5 dogs who aren't allergic to everything have become itchy, and their coats now feel oily. On a positive note, my sensitive dog is not itchy, and his coat/skin feels fine. Unfortunately, it has triggered major poo eating in him, though. Like obsessed crackhead energy poo eating. It's a thing of nightmares. This brings me to another negative about this food. The amount of poop these dogs are producing is mind-boggling. They went from tops, 3 times a day, to now, every single time they walk out the door, plus having accidents (which wasn't a thing until now). All this said, it hasn't been a good choice for my pack. I won't be ordering it again.
Last 4 bags have been full of oil! Bag leaks on the floor! Chewy’s is great for replacing, but that bag was the same way! There is no phone number for company so I’m not sure what to do. My dog has a lot of allergies so it’s not easy to change food. At this point would not recommend this food!
I have a lab/shepherd mix (50 lbs) and a toy fox terrier (10 lbs). The lab is allergic to anything with any grain in it, so rather than buy two different kinds of dog food I decided to try grain-free chicken meal and potatoes by Wholesomes. They both like the food, although the pieces are just a little big for my little girl. I was concerned that they were eating less and wondered if they really liked it, but after watching them closely neither one has lost weight. I have to assume they feel full on less of this food than their old foods. I actually had to go in and adjust my auto-ship frequency, as the bag I purchased will last until the end of this year. Big bonus for me!
Product quality is the best. Shipping is almost immediate. Order confirmation and tracking available.
This new food has worked out great. The one issue. It was delivered to the wrong home. Not Chewys fault but thankfully a neighbor was honest and I did get the food.
My pup refused to eat his kibble he’s been eating for a year. And when I brought the bag out of the box it came in he immediately was sniffing it and HE LOVES IT!!! I might have to buy a slow feeder for him now.
he will eat anything. price is great. He ate pedigree when in the confines of the rescue center and only was allowed to run around a small area for very little time. At 2 years 2 months he was slim and beautiful. However after coming to live with us, I started walking him off leash about one mile a day. When finished he was very tired and would then nap over an hour. I started him on Victor pro plus. Very soon He was gaining weight and running 1.5 to 3.5 miles a day. Much stronger and never worn out from exercise. The problem with this was he was now becoming "Arnold Shwartzen dog". All pumped up and strong. I liked the thin puppy looking dog better, even though Victor was great high protein food, I have now switched to Wholesomes , more carbohydrates less protein. I Think it is gradually working to slim him back down and not look so pumped up. He still has plenty of energy.
Not eating it much either. Don't need more for couple of months
Midwestern Pet Products manufactures this product and had numerous recalls last year for Salmonella and Corn Fungus. Over 130 dogs died while on this food mix. Do your research Chewy did not send out recall notices for the Corn Fungus issue that causes Liver toxicity and within the last month I have had to put down 2 dogs of different ages both with acute liver failure.
The package was thrown to the floor on my driveway by the carrier; I watched him on camera. Disgusting and unnacceptable manner to handle my order. I was monitoring my dogs via camera and did not tape it. I regret not using the feature at all because today's video woud have gone viral.
