I bought this for two reasons: it’s squirrel proof and it doesn’t have a tray on the bottom that collects seeds, and therefore unwanted critters. I hung a bowl under it with a grate over it so rats and mice can’t get to uneaten seed that’s dropped by the birds. I wish it held a little more seed, but I just top it off when I can.

I did a lot of research trying to find a squirrel-proof bird feeder. This fits the bill. The squirrels haven’t been able to breach it yet. They try daily, but give up pretty quickly. Unfortunately, very few birds have shown any interest in it, either. It’s not that they have trouble getting into it. It seems that small birds with short beaks have trouble accessing the food due to the way the food ports are engineered.

It took a bit for the birds to figure out how to get it the cage, but once they did they frequent the feeder often...plus the large birds cannot access the seeds and are figuring out this is not their spot.
Not liked by my birds
The feeder is very attractive but I have not seen a single one of my small birds feed from it. I have not had to refill it since I hung it 3 weeks ago.

I spent good money and haven't had a single bird use this feeder. They were all over my previous feeder but so was the squirrel. Giving up.
