The HonestChews are enhanced with real powdered antler, which is used primarily to add natural flavor and support durability. The inclusion of antler powder allows Woof to claim that the product is “made with real antler.” This particular product does not include a separate beef flavoring. Its flavor profile comes from the real antler powder and vegetable broth, which is added for palatability. While it is plant-based in formulation, the chew is not vegan or vegetarian due to the inclusion of the real antler powder.

Disappointed

I was so excited about this product because it was made of antlers and plant based products. I thought they’d be great better than the hard nylon toys and pure antlers

I was so excited about this product because it was made of antlers and plant based products. I thought they’d be great better than the hard nylon toys and pure antlers that splinter. After a session of my dogs chewing on them two of the dogs threw up the hard pieces and then one had loose stool with the pieces. Mind you they did not devour them in one sitting, just chewed on them and they were supervised so they did not devour them. Sad I was really looking forward to finding a good natural-ish chew toy.

I love that these chews are plant-based and hoped they would be a good alternative to nylon toys. Unfortunately, my dog, who isn’t an aggressive chewer, managed to tear a large portion of it apart in just 20 minutes, leaving tiny pieces all over the floor. If I hadn’t intervened, I’m pretty sure it would have been completely gone within an hour. She absolutely loves it, but I wouldn’t leave her unattended with it and probably won’t purchase again.

And on further reviews of the reviews it appears that I am not alone in this problem. I am disappointed after hoping for a natural alternative to the Big Brand chew toys. Will not buy again and will not recommend.

ok at first.. until they threw it up

My dogs all loved them at first but after about a week one of them got sick and as I was cleaning it up I noticed it was full of splinter looking pieces.. NOT what

NOT what i want my dogs eating.. tossed them all. I had bought one for my daughters dog as well and he threw it up as well. Not the "heathier choice" I thought. I hope what ever else they got passes thru.

I would never buy this again...horrible

I bought this for my avid cheer, I wanted a more natural toy that wasn't made with plastics or petroleum products. In less than 5 minutes, huge chunks of this toy

I bought this for my avid cheer, I wanted a more natural toy that wasn't made with plastics or petroleum products. In less than 5 minutes, huge chunks of this toy were all over my flooring and I don't know how much my dog swallowed. For the price, lack of durability and possible intestinal issues, I threw this toy away 5 minutes after I gave it to my dog. I would never recommend this chew! So disappointed in this product!

It is very hard indeed so I can see where it would be good for an aggressive chewer, but she just licks it and doesn’t chew it. She’s bored with it already. Maybe if I ordered a smaller size? Probably won’t bother since there are other better options for her.

This item promised durability, which was what attracted me to this for my heavy chewer. She ended up being very easily able to chew it down to the point where there were pieces everywhere that I’m sure she swallowed (seemed to show up in bowel movements). Shortly after we were in the ER for GI issues and this is the only new thing she had. If your dog has an especially strong jaw, this may not be for them.

We didn't even attempt to give her this different shaped bone (since it's made with the same material). Maybe it wasn't meant for our heavy chewer. Disappointed about this purchase.

My Golden retriever and goldendoodle really enjoy this chew toy. It last longer than most chews and is made of natural materials. The size is great. Other materials make their gums bleed but this product does not. The only minor complaint is it leaves little pieces that I have to vacuum up. But I highly recommend this product for aggressive cheers.

We bought this brand when we were "influenced" against the nylon style. We had not encountered any issues with the nylon bones, but bought these to give them a try. One of our dogs was ill over two nights throwing up pieces of this bone. We watched is closely and it wasn't chewed beyond what we see with the nylon bones, but for some reason, these made our dog ill. We also found pieces in his poo. We would not buy these again.
