I have purchased literally dozens of treat-dispensing toys for different dogs over the years and I love this design! My dogs love it too. This great toy comes in a box that shows the cutaway of what is inside. The toy itself has a small oval hole on the side of the tube near the outer end of each green rubber piece. You put small treats or kibble in each hole and shake them to the other end, which then leaves puzzle baffles they must move through before exiting for the dog to eat. My 10 yo 52 lb. “Labrachow Pugador” named Butters prefers to chew and tug and roll it on the floor with his snout or paw to get the treats out. My 5 yo 45 lb. cattle dog/bulldog chow hound named Penny is too interested in the treats to take time to tug. She rolls it with her snout and paws it frantically until the treats roll out each end. Treats fly out when shaking it around also. My dogs don’t tug with each other but this would be a wonderful toy for that if they did. I really like the intellectual stimulation they get working for their rewards from this toy. It’s like a much-needed walk for their brains.

I’ve had these for about a week now, and my dog absolutely loves it! It’s become his absolute favorite, especially when he needs to stay at home by himself for a couple of hours. He’s now even reached a point where he doesn’t want treats by themselves, he will nudge his nomchucks, then the treat. He always wants them put in there. This is one of the best enrichment toys I could have ever gotten him, it really made his Gotcha Day special!

Based on the description, I expected this toy to be much more durable. Our 1 year old Corgi made quick work (roughly 30 minutes) of chewing pieces off. I had to dig them out of his throat to avoid choking or passing through. If your dog is a big chewer or is rough on toys, I’d reconsider.
Clever mini replica of nunchucks with treats insid

This is a cute puzzle for pups that's a cute play on the nunchucks used in martial arts, in a smaller version of course, and with holes in the handles where treats are inserted into the handles. I was concerned that my pup would not be able to figure it out, but it didn't take her long to realize what she had to do, and soon after she had both handles completely emptied, proving she's smarter than I thought she was. It's a good toy and will occupy your pet for a considerable lenth of time with enough treats in both handles. Overall I think it's a wonderful toy, and so does my dog.
OK for my old dog, but I have to do the work.

My dog is a 15 year old large mixed breed. He used to adore tug toys, but those days are over. My hope was that this would be something he could play with while lying down on his orthopedic bed. The good: He sure did perk up and express interest. I tried Zukes Minis and Blue Bits as treats. The Blue Bits, being larger, are far more challenging to get out, frustrating both of us, but would be a good choice if you want the treats to come out slower and the challenge to last longer. My old boy liked the tiny Zukes treats - far easier to coax out. I liked that it did give him some fun and enjoyment, even if I had to help the treats appear! If you have a dog that loves tug toys, this toy would be a big hit - tug and tasty bits - what’s not to love!? The size is just right and the rubber Nomchucks are a perfect blend of chew-friendly and durable. The bad: I can imagine that for some dogs, it may be too frustrating to get the reward, and they would lose interest. This would leave treats stuck in there, getting stale or rancid. There is no way to open the toy to get treats out, or to effectively wash it. Therefore, it is essential to use a treat that is both tiny, and “clean”; something that won’t leave crumbs or an oily residue. I like that it does provide “together playtime” for Louie and I. Rather than tug, he bites, mouths, noses, and pushes with his paws. He gives me a “look” when he’s getting impatient, and I assist by knocking out a treat. And playtime together is always a good thing!
Decent Dog Entertainer
I am very impressed with the quality of this toy. One of my dogs is an absolute destroyer of all things and after gnawing on these they are still in one piece
I am very impressed with the quality of this toy. One of my dogs is an absolute destroyer of all things and after gnawing on these they are still in one piece. Both my dogs did have a hard time figuring out how to play with these — I was hoping since it had two ends that it could be a joint dog effort puzzle, but unfortunately for my household, this was a one dog activity (which just consisted of them looking confused and nudging it back and forth, and eventually trying to chew their way through it.) it definitely does still engage them, though and both kibble pieces and training treats easily fit inside.

Our goofy guy Artie is a cattle dog mix, which means he needs lots of physical & mental exercise. He also has a habit of whipping toys (and bathmats) around like nunchucks. We've tried other treat/ sniffing puzzles which he solves within a minute - enter the Nomchucks. You really get a lot of bang for your buck because they are durable and great for tug, actual dog nunchucks, and a treat sniffing puzzle! They keep him occupied for more than most other toys and puzzles we have :)
Big Fun for my Small Chew Monster

My 30-pound power-chewer went to town on the rubbery parts of this toy, with or without treats inside of it. She really seems to enjoy the texture. She figured out how to get the treats out almost instantly, but I made the mistake at first of using treats that didn't fall out easily -- so she got frustrated and chewed the connecting rope almost in half! After using smaller treats she is having fun with it, but I don't know how long the rope will last. My bad. Maybe another version with a stronger rope would be better.
Not for heavy chewers
The toy is made of sturdy rubber but my dog is a heavy chewer and in less than 24 hours already made some damage on one side of the toy. He does like to toss them
The toy is made of sturdy rubber but my dog is a heavy chewer and in less than 24 hours already made some damage on one side of the toy. He does like to toss them around to himself and I do love the ability to put treats into the toy, it will be a great boredom buster for him while we are at work.
Great Tug Toy
Gryffin loves this toy. I don't use it as a treat dispenser because I don't have any treats small enough. I need to get some. We just play tug-of-war. Gryffin
Gryffin loves this toy. I don't use it as a treat dispenser because I don't have any treats small enough. I need to get some. We just play tug-of-war. Gryffin loves this game. He needs super chewer toys. These nomchucks fit the bill. He loves chewing on them, and hasn't been able to destroy them. I highly recommend these for medium to large dogs.
