Threads cut dogs neck

I have a Chinese Crested and he has no hair around his neck. This collar while cute has three sewn thread lines with knots that face his body and they are very coarse

I have a Chinese Crested and he has no hair around his neck. This collar while cute has three sewn thread lines with knots that face his body and they are very coarse like sand paper. With movement it cuts and scrapes his neck. Waste of money as he can’t wear it. If I pull out the threads the collar will be compromised and fall apart there is no solution.
