Answer by Chewy • Jun 12, 2018

Is Flax powder digestable for cats? I thought not.?

Answer by Chewy • Aug 17, 2018
Grinding flax seeds breaks them up, making them much easier to digest by all animals and provides omega fatty acids to both cats and dogs. It is not necessary in a cat's diet.

and does it really help with shedding??

Answer by Chewy • Nov 28, 2021
This supplement is not specifically formulated to reduce shedding. It's rich omega-3 content provides anti-inflammatory benefits and dietary fiber and it also supports both cardiovascular health as well as overall health.

Our senior baby is an expert at foiling our attempts to hide medicines in her food. This was no different. Even well mixed and hidden in gravy, she tasted it and then refused to eat the food. To make her point, she also refused to eat her next meal, despite it not having any of the supplement in it. She stopped trusting us and assumed we were putting it in everything. I had to make her another bowl without any in it. Another strike out.

Cats Won't Eat

This was the 4th product that I tried for my 1 1/2 year old cat and it's the WINNER! She has allergies and has lost belly hair. The vet wanted her on some type of product that had EPA and DHA. I tried 3 other fish oil products that she just refused to eat on anything (treats, food, what have you). I came to the conclusion that she does not like the texture of fish oil itself (her sister on the other hand LOVES it). She does not like this product sprinked on her dry food (she doesn't like anything to mess with her dry food LOL), but she will eat it if I mix it in with wet food or a wet type of treat. It's been 2 weeks and her coat does feel softer; I'll have to give it more time to see if it stops her itching and help the belly hair grow back. I'm just happy I found something I don't have to force on her to eat!

Well tolerated by my two older cats!

Compared to other products I've used for omega 3's, this has been the most successful. My cats eat this no problem. I stir it in with their wet food and it dissolves

Compared to other products I've used for omega 3's, this has been the most successful. My cats eat this no problem. I stir it in with their wet food and it dissolves quickly. Another thing I like about this product is it's well tolerated by both of my cats. They're older guys (one is 15 the other is 9) and neither have had any side effects. They've been on this product for about 3 months now and I'd definitely recommend giving it a try.

Must taste OK

My 8-year-old 50 lb. mixed breed hound dog gobbles this up when mixed with 1.5 oz cat food pate and a normal dry food feeding. He also likes the no-fish oil version

Been feeding my 3 cats this product for 2 weeks now. Even my most finicky cat licks her plate clean. I mix this with their favorite high end wet food and they eat every last drop. My one kitty was balding with dry skin at the base of her tail and after only 2 weeks of taking this product her hair is growing back and she I see her skin twitching less often.

not the right omega-3 source for cats

Bought without reading closely enough. Most of the omega-3 in this product is from plant sources and not suitable for cats. Not going to ask for a refund since

Bought without reading closely enough. Most of the omega-3 in this product is from plant sources and not suitable for cats. Not going to ask for a refund since it was my error but I would not recommend it for cats. Probably ok for dogs since they're not obligate carnivores but cats need to get their omega-3 from animal sources.

GREAT OMEGA 3!!!

So much easier than dealing with the oil forms of Omega 3. All of the felines, domestic and feral, seem to appreciate this addition sprinkled on their dry food

So much easier than dealing with the oil forms of Omega 3. All of the felines, domestic and feral, seem to appreciate this addition sprinkled on their dry food. {This is added to our domestics' dry food daily. The ferals receive this as a treat added to their dry food about once a week.} Thank you Wysong for developing an easier way for our four-legged companions to get this heart and joint healthy supplement!

This powder mixes up well with my cats' canned food and they have not rejected it, which is a real plus, as cats are so finicky about any change in their food. It's been about 2 weeks since I've been adding it to their food and I can see improvement in their skin and coat already.
