High hopes dashed.

I had high hopes for these carriers. I have 8 chinchillas and I thought they would be great to transport them to the vet or for emergency situations like the AC going out. The first thing I noticed was that they are very small. 9x6x6 doesn't give you a lot of room for more than a bird. But what about smaller animals? Mice, rats, gerbils, hamsters, reptiles etc will all chew through this, or pee and soak a hole through it, before you make it home, making it less than ideal for anything other than small birds. The second thing I noticed was that the handle immediately started to rip. The handle is single layer thin cardboard and not sturdy enough to be used as a handle. The third thing I noticed was how very difficult it is to close. Any animal or bird is going to get stressed out as you have to handle it roughly to get the tabs to close into the slots on the side. I really had high hopes for these carriers, but I'm really disappointed these won't work for the chinchillas. I've had close calls with the air conditioning going out and almost needed to relocate them all and I really thought these would be ideal, but a chinchilla will chew through this in seconds. As you can see from the pictures, even my ferret is too big for it.

I used the carriers for multiple purposes. I gave some to my rehabber friend who used them to transport baby rabbits. I tried the carriers out with my degu, and they worked well for holding them temporarily while I cleaned their cage. Rodents also enjoy having them in their enclosures for playing with and sleeping in. Due to them being cardboard and the size, I would only use them for quick transport situations for small rodents and other small animals who can comfortably travel in the dimensions of the carrier.
Pretty Small

I run a small animal rescue and I thought that these could be helpful when we have to go pick up a miuse or hamster. Upon receiving them, I’m really not sure what can be put in them. We’ve decided to use them for foraging boxes for the foster rats. We stuffed tissue paper inside, filled with little treats and seeds, poked the holes out of the box and either hang them inside the enclosure or put them on the bottom. The rats are having great fun trying to get the boxes open and the treats from inside !!
Great transport, especially for baby chickens

These are bright colored boxes, with an economical price per unit. They are very easy to quickly fold up, create the air holes and carry. They are a lightweight cardboard, and I was a little concerned about how much weight they would bear without reinforcing the bottom with a piece of tape. When you transport hamsters and mice, tape is always a bad idea because it’s easy for them to get a little foot stick on that. Also, the carrying containers must taste really good. Lol because rodents were quick to chew through them. If I was transporting a hamster after a sale, I would probably use three layers of these boxes. However, for baby chickens, these would be ideal. Chickens are lightweight and tend not to chew there might be some urine soaked through, but these aren’t permanent containers. These are meant to be disposable transport devices. As far as reptiles, you would have to look at the air hole size and make a judgment.
Not secure
I didn't like how flimsy these were. The connectors don't give confidence that an animal won't escape. The air holes are big enough that a mouse can definitely squeeze
I didn't like how flimsy these were. The connectors don't give confidence that an animal won't escape. The air holes are big enough that a mouse can definitely squeeze through. I wouldn't trust an animal's safety with these carriers. Make sure if you do use them, that it's only for a very small animal like a small reptile, a single rat, or a parakeet sized bird. When they say "small" they mean it.

I use these to hold my mice while I clean out their regular enclosure. They're sturdy enough where they can't be chewed through easily or quickly and also serve as great hidey houses after. They very much like these.
