Zeal Canada produces their bamboo fibers from edible species of bamboo Phyllostachys and Bambusa sp., from the bamboo shoots not older than one year. These products do not contain any additional substances and the only ingredient is fiber. Bamboo fiber helps detox and promotes gastrointestinal health and digestion, contributing to a firm stool.

It's tricky for me to review dog food, because my lab can and will happily eat anything. However, my son summed it up - this food smells like stinky fish! Which is a good thing in this house, my dog's favorite treats are the little freeze dried herring, and this salmon & duck formula has that same pungent aroma - you know there is salmon in it for sure. It get's my dogs attention every time I open it, and was hard to make her wait so I could take a photo! I also liked the air dried kibble texture, and that it has green lipped mussels and eggshell for arthritis prevention, and pumpkin for digestion. I think this would be a good stand alone food or as a topper to get picky dogs interested (not a problem in this house).

I have to admit, I didn't expect this to go over as well as it did. The ingredients are exactly what they say it is. No hidden by products or chicken by products. ( my dog is allergic and I've run into ALOT of dog food that claim salmon, lamb or anything other than chicken but still have chicken in them) Its not greasy or smell if some kind of imatation flavoring. The best part, my dog LOVES it. This also works great for training!

I am so impressed with the Zeal Salmon & Duck food. The ingredients are super clean, and you can actually smell the real salmon and duck when you open the bag — not that artificial, overly processed smell some foods have. My pets took to it immediately, which honestly shocked me because they can be picky eaters. I’ve noticed shinier coats, better digestion, and way less itching since switching to this formula. It feels good knowing I’m feeding them something high-quality that supports their health, especially with the added omegas and protein. The pieces are a perfect size, no strong greasy residue, and there’s never any waste because they lick their bowls clean every time. If you’re looking for a nutrient-dense, high-protein food that pets actually enjoy, I definitely recommend giving Zeal Salmon & Duck a try!
