Excellent start-up kit

Other than the aquarium, this kit contains everything needed to house a small aquatic turtle. Both types of light bulbs (basking for warmth and the crucial UVA/UVB

Other than the aquarium, this kit contains everything needed to house a small aquatic turtle. Both types of light bulbs (basking for warmth and the crucial UVA/UVB bulb) plus housings and spring clips to fasten lights to the mesh top you will need are in the box. There is also a small basking platform that floats up and down but is fastened to the side of the tank. The filter is not my favorite, because of the extremely coarse filter it comes with, but it will suffice until better filters can be bought. The coarse filter removes essentially nothing IMO. The water conditioner included is critical if using tap water, and the freeze dried river shrimp are a special treat but not adequate nutrition. All in all this is a great buy for a 20 gal or so tank.

Excellent kit to get started with a new aquatic turtle pal. I personally don’t like incandescent bulbs, so I purchased a nice LED set that offers full spectrum UVA/UVB. Other than that, my turtle loves the basking dock and the filter seems to be doing a good job keeping her 20 gallon tank clean .

It's a great starter kit to for a simple set up, but I wish the basking rock it came with was a bit bigger. It can be a bit difficult for larger ones to stay on,

It's a great starter kit to for a simple set up, but I wish the basking rock it came with was a bit bigger. It can be a bit difficult for larger ones to stay on, but these are meant for smaller tanks presumably. Everything else in the box is great to have, especially with the basking lights.
