Zilla Day White Reptile Basking Bulb, 50-watt

I bought the fixture by the same brand that makes the bulb, Zilla. I bought the bulb that the brand recommends for that fixture, taking into consideration the size of the terrarium and species of lizard (brown anole). When the fixture and bulb arrived, I screwed the bulb into the fixture, clipped it to the top of the terrarium with the little hooks on springs that come attached to the fixture, and turned it on for my little buddy. No one touched the terrarium or fixture after that. I went upstairs to my work computer to get some work done, and I was the only person in the house. A couple of hours later, I went downstairs to get a soda, and the light was off. I flipped the switch, made sure it was still plugged in, and it was. We have surge protectors, and we hadn't lost power or anything that day. I unclipped the fixture from the top of the terrarium, and when I lifted the fixture, the filament part of the bulb went with it, but the gladd bulb itself stayed on the lid to the terrarium. The bulb had broken cleanly along the point where it meets the metal base of the bulb component. The filaments were in-tact, and the class had broken so freakishly cleanly, I don't even know how to replicate it. Thankfully, there was no glass in my lizard's terrarium, but I have zero intention to purchase Zilla pet supplies ever again.
