What is the size of the steps

The X-Small stairs measure 17 inches long by 14 inches wide by 13 inches tall, each step is 6.5 inches high and 8.5 inches deep. The Small stairs measure 21 inches long by 18 inches wide by 15 inches tall, each step is 5 inches high by 7 inches deep. The Medium stairs measure 21 inches long by 18 inches wide by 18 inches tall, each step is 6 inches high by 7 inches deep. The Large stairs measure 28 inches long by 18 inches wide by 22 inches tall, each step is 5.5 inches high by 7 inches deep. The X-Large stairs measure 28 inches long by 21 inches wide by 24 inches tall, each step is 6 inches high by 7 inches deep.

What is under the fabric? Is it wood? Is it sturdy for a dog that likes to hop down the stairs.

These stairs are made of high density foam and does not contain wood. The bottom of the pet stair is made of rough material on the bottom that helps to prevent movement.

Can this lay flat for storage under the bed?

These pet stairs cannot be folded or collapsed once fully expanded.

What is the best way to clean/wash these?

X-large, well made, sturdy, not for large dogs

Let me reiterate, I purchased the x-large version for big dogs. Henry (80 lb pit) uses it to get on and off my bed, approx. 3 ft up. Getting up is no problem,

Let me reiterate, I purchased the x-large version for big dogs. Henry (80 lb pit) uses it to get on and off my bed, approx. 3 ft up. Getting up is no problem, but getting down is hard on him (he just turned 12 and promised me he's going to live forever) due to the relative steepness due to the short step length. The one I had before was 3 larger steps and was better for him. I'm giving 4 stars only because it said for big dogs but is really not. Everything else is solid. Also, I don't think you can remove the outside for washing like the last one, but I may be wrong about that (I'm writing this whilst sitting outside and don't feel like going upstairs to check). Anywho, great for small/medium dogs, not so great for big, older dogs.

Light weight but sturdy, easy to vacuum

It was easy to put together and does the job perfectly. My dog took to them right away. My dog is small so it might not work as well for a big dog.

Expensive garbage product

This is my second set. I didn’t want to get another one because it’s pathetic how squished the steps get, and there’s no fixing that. I tried something more stable,

This is my second set. I didn’t want to get another one because it’s pathetic how squished the steps get, and there’s no fixing that. I tried something more stable, but my dog absolutely hated them, so I gave in and got another set of these. The zippers are tiny and one broke on me while I was trying to zip up the stairs, rendering the cover useless. I hope they start putting better zippers on, but they won’t because it’s cheaper to use these tiny garbage quality zippers.

Well constructed and sturdy

These stairs are well made and sturdy but as they're foam also easy on the old pups' joints. Only preference would be for the steps to be a bit shorter. Overall

ease of setting up

it is a wonderful soft stair so my little old arthritic dog was unafraid to use it to get up and down to\from her favorite "spot" on our couch. I am a little concerned

it is a wonderful soft stair so my little old arthritic dog was unafraid to use it to get up and down to\from her favorite "spot" on our couch. I am a little concerned about the durability of the soft velour casing on the stairs after a year or so of constant use. But we'll go down that road when it comes. I was very pleased that it arrived quickly because it was something I wanted FAST.

I really liked it but my 17 year old cat said no thanks, I’d rather just keep jumping up and down from my favorite places in the home. I gave it to the thrift shop

Collapses under weight

Would probably be okay for a cat or very small dog but the foam is too soft/not at all supportive so my dog (25lb) could not use.
