I do not understand why this got such bad reviews. I have a 10 pound Morkie and these steps work perfect for him. We purchased the 2 step small and it holds his weight easily, does not sag, and has worked great. It is made of foam with a zipped cover. We purchased the steps to keep him from jumping on and off the couch and it has worked exactly how we hoped it would. Do not let the negative reviews deter you from purchasing, just make sure you get the right size for your pet.
We got this for my 16 year old Maine coon-mix to help him get on and off the couch more easily. We gave it several days to try and unfortunately it didn't work for him as it offered no real support for climbing up and down, especially going from 1st to 2nd step. After he fell off a few times going down the steps he stopped using it at all and made us pick him up/set him down again. Now we're using a plastic storage bin while I research other brands to try. Chewy made it right and refunded us for this item. Highly recommend pet stairs that have corrugated cardboard instead of foam. If you're pet is super lightweight it may work for you.
One dog learned right away and the other won’t use it. Not the fault of the stairs. It is bulky but works great. Even after recovering from surgery, my dog still uses it. It’s become a fixture for use.
Don't buy these if you have a dog over 10 pds or one that is aging. They are very small-and collapse under your dog's weight. The picture Chewy shows is NOT adequate-it should be a teacup yorkie in the photo.
I got this as a replacement for another set of stairs on the recommendation of a chewy associate. The product came half built - all I had to do was assemble the top step. Unfortunately these collapse under my 15lb dog and he won’t use it. The whole stair set moves when he puts just two paws up. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone for a pet over 10lbs. But this would be perfect for a smaller pet or a cat. The quest for the perfect dog ramp continues….
When we moved into our apartment to downsize we had to leave some things behind, the trunk for our two girls to jump onto our taller bed being one of them. We found this on Chewy and decided to try it knowing that perhaps it would take some convincing to get them used to it. It took less than a week and they are using it like champs both up and down. Could not be happier!
The small size steps are very well made. They're cushiony yet very sturdy for this 5 lb miniature poodle, and I think a 10 lb pet would do just as well. But will this spoiled-rotten-princess use them? NO! She just cocks her little skull and stares at me with those eyes until I break down and pick her up to place her on the couch! Treats don't work, and she acts like the steps are going to swallow her whole! Other reviews stated similar issues so that makes me feel better, so I'm not giving up yet!
I bought these because I have an aging dog who does not like the steps that are hard. She loves going up and down these foam steps. Jumping up and down is starting to irritate her hip, so these steps are great.
The stairs are not stable enough for my pet to use and she is scared of them
Got the size small stairs, they are nice quality and cute/soft. My 11 year old teacup Yorkie has been diagnosed with Chf and has trouble seeing, he started having trouble jumping up on my bed and couch so this is perfect for him. Definitely recommend!
