Is this a sponge filter or activated carbon filter

The Betta Clean filter has both sponges and activated carbon in it.
I have floating plants in my tank and am looking for a filter that can be completely submerged, will this filter work?

The Betta filter can be completely submerged in the water of your aquarium.
Can you adjust the flow or at least point the flow towards the glass to minimize it?

There is a valve at the top of the motor head attached to the spout that the water flows through. This valve is the flow adjustment valve so you can decrease or increase as needed.

Do not buy

So I just realized it's almost 2 months to the day from when I bought this and I have done nothing but fight this filter. I finally just plugged in an air driven one and threw it in the garbage can. What an absolute waste. In 50 years of fish keeping this is probably in my top three of the worst filters and probably my top worst nano filter I've ever had please do not waste your money on this. No matter how many times I cleaned it primed it everything it's almost killed my betta. It will stop flowing within the first week of using it.

Excellent Product!

Excellent Product! My Betta LOVES the Betta Clean Aquarium Filter. He does NOT get sucked up into the filter like other products. Thank you!

Zoo Med Betta Clean Filter

This pump and filter system works well and keeps my Betta tank clean. It is large, as described, but that is not a problem in my 5 gallon tank. However, I am unable to change the filter cartridge without removing the entire unit. And new filter cartridges are apparently only available from the manufacturer. They also are pricey at $5.00 apiece. Recommended change of cartridge is monthly. I will continue to use this unit for as long as it functions. But when I have to replace it, I may look for something different.
