Does this scooper have a very tight mesh that can be used to scoop litter that is the same particle size as sand?

This shovel can be used for fine substrates in small animal cages or cat litter boxes. It is suitable for cleaning sand-type substrates.

Useless for cat litter

I intended to use this scooper to pick up the small bits of litter that the scoops with larger holes leave behind. I use Glide litter which is like coarse sand

I intended to use this scooper to pick up the small bits of litter that the scoops with larger holes leave behind. I use Glide litter which is like coarse sand. The holes in this scoop are too fine, and was a waste of money. I found a similar scoop elsewhere with a larger mesh designed for cat litter. This scoop is definitely for very fine sand as used in a reptile terrarium, so it is useless for cat litter.

Nice but not for cat litter.

It's nice for what it was designed to do. I thought I could use it as a litter scoop but the litter wouldn't go through the screen.

Won't work for what I bought it for

Needed to capture small pieces of world's best litter that do not clump, this is ineffective. I thoroughly sanitized it and now use it to unthaw shrimp, sounds gross

I would have given it 5 stars if there wasn’t a “fold” in the screen when I received it. Probably because it is so strong and doesn’t bend. It takes more time to clean the litter box because of the defect but otherwise manageable! This scooper works really well for very fine cat litter cleaning!
