Remember to measure for the perfect fit. With the Zoo Med Floating Aquarium Log Reptile Hideout, you can add a natural touch to your aquatic pets’ habitat. This log floats at just the surface, so your fishy friends can swim inside. The bottom weighting prevents it from rolling over if newts or mudskippers climb on top. The log provides security, comfort and stress reduction for your little friends, and a feeding hole lets you interact with your pets. This is also great for use with Fish.

I have a large, outdoor fishpond and a resident turtle (a red-eared pond slider who showed up as a baby and is still there). He has gotten too big for the lily pads that are just coming up and was using a fallen board to sun himself. I started looking for something for him and found this. I wasn't sure about the measurements and the medium is not at all large. He will grow out of it soon. It took him about a week to find it, but once he did, he's been doing his daily sun on it ever since...so cute!! The holes in it are way too small for my fish to go thru it and for him too, but it fits his body for floating for now, and it is weighted so he can climb right on.
So funny enough I saw the other review and got this for my musk turtle, and she loves it. I’ve caught her basking on top of it from time to time, but she spends all her time in it, poking her head out and swimming in and out of it. She would use it, fish would use it, shrimp would use it… Everyone in the tank likes it, but my musk turtle LOVES it. Also I got this one and not the turtle version because this was cheaper at the time. It’s small critter approved!
My turtle loves lounging inside. I catch him sleeping in there. He loves that he can raise his head to get air with having to swim up for it. I had to switch from the other brand as the size notes the same dimensions but is not as wide.
My school of tiger barbs and my musk turtle love hanging out in this log! Of course, they are in it at separate times, but I have found both the fish and our turtle relaxing in it. They also seem to love how it flows around the aquarium due to the filter flow. I recommend this for small turtles and anyone with freshwater fish!
