Description

Keep your hermit crab buddies warm with the Zoo Med Hermit Crab Heater. This mini-size heater is designed for small hermit crab enclosures to help maintain proper temperature and humidity for your shell-hogging pals. It’s built like a pad and has an adhesive surface that you can stick on the bottom or on the side of your hermit crab terrarium―even on plastic. Because it works with very little power, it’s safe to use daily and can raise the temperature about five degrees. Plus, you can use it straight from the package with no assembly or set up.

Key Benefits
  • Helps maintain proper temperature and humidity in small hermit crab enclosures.

  • Pad can be placed on the bottom or the side of hermit crab terrariums with its adhesive surface.

  • perfect for what I needed

    By on

My hermit crabs were a little inactive due to cold weather (I don't keep my house super warm in the winter). I purchased this heater and it's perfect! I placed it on the outside of their glass enclosure opposite from their water and they snuggle up to it nicely. I've noticed they have become more active again. The only small complaint I have is that the adhesive isn't super strong on the corners of the heater so the corners aren't up against the glass tight, but it's still very secure on the outside of the glass and I have no worries about it falling off. Also, even though I was concerned about a heater on the outside of the enclosure, it is just warm to the touch, not too hot.

  • Small but it works!

This is just for a small container but it's great that it can be used on plastic. It's been chilly here still and my 2 new Madagascar hissing cockroaches, Creepy and Crawly, need to keep warm until summer. They snuggle down beside it or hang on the side I've got the heat pad on and just love it. I'm getting another for my garden snails as well. Their tank is larger but as they don't need it as warm it's no issue since for them it's just to take the chill off. And thanks to the folks at Chewy for helping us find this too!

  • Good but small

This is only to heat a small critter carrier, not anything bigger, I got it hoping it would heat my hermits 10 gallon but it didn't. So I had to buy a heat lamp.

  • Not useful for my 10 gal aquarium

It gets warm without getting the glass too hot for my crabs. However, it has not kept the overall temperature in the tank any warmer. It has only kept the glass that its attatched to and the area closest too it a little warmer.
