I had my most picky and sensitive cats try the A Strong Heart Salmon Dinner Paté wet cat food, and I fed it in addition to their regular dry food (just in smaller amounts for each food). They all loved it (and made the other cats quite jealous with it). They ate it all right away, leaving nothing in the bowl. It also seemed to agree with them very well with no issues after eating it, not even in the transition phase. The paté is easy to get out of the can without making a mess. It has a nice consistency that can even be eaten by cats with dental issues. Its smell is strong enough to entice the cats without being offensive to human feeders (at least I found it bearable). The only downside for me would be the amount recommended to be fed per cat based on their weight, since I have a few chunkies and some larger cats in my fur-family, which would make feeding this food regularly very expensive for me. I do appreciate the lack of artificial flavors and the high level of vitamins and beneficial ingredients. So, all in all I would definitely recommend it.

I have been giving this pate to my kitties for a little over a week. Their main food is dry kibble, but in the mornings, I give them some wet food. Right away, I could tell that they like this better than what I have been giving them. I mean, they liked the other stuff just fine, but they REALLY like this. I give them about half a can each morning. I have not seen any evidence of stomach upset when I scoop the litter pan every day, and I do have a cat with a sensitive tummy. The food does not look or smell off-putting like some wet foods that smell weirdly fishy. It holds its shape enough to make spooning out portions easy, but it's super soft and wet when it's in the bowl. It does not have that greasy or gelatinous stuff on top that a lot of other wet foods have. The ingredients are much better than those in what I have been using, and the price is impressively affordable, so I will be making the switch permanently!

Initially my indoor cats liked the food, and with time they didn’t eat it. My outside cat really enjoyed the food. He finished off the cans. I will say, my one inside cat has digestive issues. When he would eat this food, it did not seem to cause him any digestive discomfort-that is a positive. Maybe we would try a different flavor. Hence my middle of road rating.

Good food, but missing important nutrition info

I like that this product comes in small cans, so even picky eaters can finish a can without it going bad. My cats are very picky. They both enjoyed this food though

One of them is in the beginning stages of kidney failure and should eat low phosphorus, but that information could not be found. In the meantime, I will feed her anything that she will eat just to keep her levels steady. She really enjoys this food when it first comes out the can, she eagerly licks off the gravy and then starts eating away on the rest of the food. She seems to enjoy the taste. However, because the phosphorus content cannot be found, I would probably not re-order this food.

The texture was smooth and easy for them to eat, but after that first meal, they wouldn’t touch it again. Looking at the ingredients, it’s a mixed bag. It does have salmon and a good range of vitamins and taurine, which are great for cats. But it also lists meat and poultry by-products right up front, which is a little vague, and added color and sodium nitrite, which aren’t things cats need in their food. Overall, it’s nutritionally complete, but not top-quality — kind of middle-of-the-road. If your cat’s not picky, it might work fine, but mine gave it a hard pass after night one.

My cat loves it and he won't eat just anything. It's a Salmon first ingredient so it's the real deal and that's followed by a good healthy list of supplement/vitamins

Also it retains it's moist, soft texture even after being in the fridge. Calorie count is okay, especially for the large amount of gravy like liquid my cat gobbles up.
