Dog Loves This!

My dog has tried several of the Acana recipes, and this is clearly her favorite! I use this as a topper over her Duck and Pear formula. Thanks Acana!

Best food for the price

After trying several of the “top” brands of dog food, we’ve found Acana to be the best. Our dogs love it. They are staying at a healthy weight, have clean bills of health from the vet, and their coats are silky smooth. Highly recommend.

Great price

Healthy dog food. My dog loves it and ingredients are awesome so I feel good about giving it to her. Plus I had a $20 coupon which made if affordable along with Chewy’s low prices.

Not worth it

I have two dogs who work really hard pulling weight and eat lots of food because of it. One is pure bred, the other is a mutt. I've been trying a few different brands as of late to see if I could put a bit more weight on my big dog. Now, I will admit, the big one can be picky but the little one will eat socks if you gave them to her. That said- neither dog would touch this food after the first time they ate it. They both got really gassy and just laid around the next day. I thought maybe it was something else but after missing three meals I tried giving them a different brand of food which they quickly consumed. I'm not a dog (obviously) so I can only say so much as to the food's quality. But I didn't like the side effects both of my dogs got from eating this food. And that fact that they wouldn't touch it twice... that says enough for me.

It was a No Go for us

Unfortunately, my yellow lab wasn’t interested in switching foods! She was having some issues with her stool and I thought this might help; it did help her the several meals she ate in small quantities, but when it was half new & half old, she wasn’t interested at all. Chewy was great and credited my account; I’m donating the opened bag to our local food pantry that collects for pooches & kitties, compliments of Chewy. Lesson learned.

A great food for dogs with allergies

I used to buy another brand of fish protein dog food but the recipe has changed or something and my Golden won’t eat it . Tried this food and she loves it and it doesn’t trigger her allergies ! A little more expensive but worth it .

The Jury is Out

This is a food I used to feed my dog prior to Chewy dropping the Acana line a number of years ago. He has been on a Victor brand salmon based product since. Due to his apparent disinterest in his food once it is more than about a week after opening the bag, I opted to buy two smaller bags, one of the Victor and one of the old Acana freshwater fish that he used to eat. He still is interested in the Victor salmon but seems quite indifferent to the Acana, even out of a freshly opened bag. This is a costly experiment I probably won't repeat. My advice is to try a small bag of this product to see if your dog will eat it, and to determine whether or not his digestive tract will agree with the food before investing in larger bags or subscriptions.

Has Acana changed?

My dog used to love all the Acana foods she'd even liked them just as treats or put in her puzzles. Now she doesn't want anything to do with them. She'll roll her ball to get them out and leave them on the floor. She won't even eat it if I add toppers. It doesn't smell the same either.
