Would recommend-no more throwing up dry food!
By NuttyRaccoon on Feb 7, 2021
I bought this cat food based solely on the review by kimh who wrote this was the 1st dry cat food her cat Primer didn’t throw up. BINGO! It worked for my 17 year old “Biscuit” as well & his finicky little whiskers loved the cat food. I might add, my 17 yr old Biscuit has had a few bad teeth pulled in the past yrs., making some cat pellets either too big or too small. This cat pellet is the perfect size for an older cat. The pellet is flat, & not round making it much easier for him to crunch down. Thank you so much kimh & Primer for posting that review! Your review was extremely informational on the carbs in dry cat food. So happy Chewy brought Acana back
By kittymama on Feb 2, 2021
Before I became a Chewy customer, they carried Acana which is the kibble I feed my 12 cats. Once I decided it was more feasible to order pet food and supplies from Chewy, they had stopped carrying it. I have been a customer for some time now and have asked on occasion for them to bring back this food. During the pandemic, my pet store where I usually purchased the Acana went out of business, so I am absolutely thrilled Chewy has brought it back! Now I don't have to go out to buy pet supplies at all for any reason. Acana is the sister brand to Orijen which is by far the healthiest food you can buy as far as kibble goes. Acana has much of the same ingredients but quite a bit cheaper. All my babies Before I became a Chewy customer, they carried Acana which is the kibble I feed my 12 cats. Very happy with this food. If it's within your price range, try it. Your babies may like it as much as mine. … more

Good quality, low carbs
By Michelle on Jan 24, 2021
My cat eats primarily a grain-free wet food diet, which has kept him healthy and slim. However, like humans, he will eat high carb junk food, which is what most dry cat food is. That's why the guaranteed analysis on pet foods doesn't list (and isn't required to) the percentage of carbs. I researched and found this food. Acana does list the starch and sugar percentages. Almost no company does that. Their line ranges from 15% to 18% carbs. Most dry cat food (even the grain-free stuff) is about 35% carbs. And the dry food that isn't grain free? 50% and up with corn and wheat--grains no cat should be eating. However, offering healthy food doesn't matter if your cat doesn't like to eat it. Like most pet owners on a budget, I do wish the price were lower, but since I only feed dry food as a small part of my cat's primarily wet food diet, I'm willing to buy this for him. … more

Acana Grain-Free Dry Cat Food
By Helen on Feb 2, 2021
The ingredients seem like it would be great, but my kitties prefer their Nutro Essentials. I would not buy it again, but am sure that if I had started them on this food initially, they would eat it. However, they have a very fussy palate.

too soon for a review
By mudclam on Feb 4, 2021
Cat still has a choice of his old kibble and the new Acana, and he chooses his old brand. As we run out of the old, I'll keep filling in with the new and see if he adapts.

By kimh on Jan 11, 2021
My cat is 9 yrs old. For 7 yrs she has thrown up any food i tried. I spent over a thousand dollars trying to find out why. Primer has been on this food for a month now. She has not thrown up at all. I'm a happy cat mom!
