The ACANA Singles Lamb and Apple Freeze-Dried Dog Treats can be used as a topper to give the dog's meal a flavor boost. However, we would not recommend that these treats make up more than 10% of the dog's daily caloric intake because they are not nutritionally complete and balanced.

I had high hopes for these treats. One of our dogs was recently diagnosed with a chicken allergy. So after allergy meds and prescription food and treats, we started to wean her onto a no-chicken diet of salmon and lamb. I bought these Acana lamb & apple treats in hopes that they are something she can tolerate. Nope. Not only do they make her itch and make her nose runny, but now our other dog (who doesn't have any food allergies) is itching on his paws, too. My dogs liked the taste, though. But there is something in the ingredients of this product that causes both of my dogs to itch and chew on their paws.

Another item received with bad dates

Multiple times now we have ordered food or treats with either expired or soon to be expired dates. Ordered these in a July and expired in June.

Limited ingredients

3 of the 4 dogs liked it - Wiggles did not which is unusual for an 11 month old. I will try to give it to her again.

Texture took getting used to

Dogs love the taste of the treats!
